“Savannah Guthrie reportedly told the under fire sheriff investigating the abduction of her mother that she 'doesn't need him'. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, who has come under flak over the investigation, told Fox News that he had talked and texted Savannah who responded that 'she has her own people and didn't need him'.”

Cowgirl of Justice: "I wonder if anyone drove around with Nancy Guthrie’s phone to try to reconnect to her pacemaker."

Yes, that's a great idea! When it reconnects, you know you are close.

I wonder if anyone drove around with Nancy Guthrie’s phone to try to reconnect to her pacemaker.

Pace makers connect to the monitoring device via low power bluetooth with a max range of about 10 feet, so not likely..

this is total bullshit ... County Sheriff is being assisted by MASSIVE Federal and State resources ...

there’s no way a private investigation has access to the level of resources the Feds, the State, and even a County Sheriff have access to ...

and then there’s the little issue of access to evidence that only LEOs have, esp. forensic evidence, access to national criminal databases such as NCIC, CODIS and AFIS, access to FLOCK cameras, access to cell phone records, access to cell phone GPS tracking, access to automobile GPS tracking, resources to canvas entire neighborhoods for witnesses and private security cameras, and really, access to the whole criminal investigation mcgillicuddy ...

these days, even most small town departments have access to most of the above ... just watch a few crime shows, and you’ll quickly realize what garden-variety criminals are up against when the LEOs really want to catch and convict them ...

My dad had a pacemaker that connected to a base unit rather than an Apple watch, but it’s a similar situation. He had to be pretty close with a direct line of sight for it to connect. The base unit was in a small half bath on the sink counter - if he was out of the bathroom, it was too far to connect. The most useful info they will get from her pacemaker is time of death ... when her heart actually stopped.

If it were my mother missing, I would be going from door to door with her phone in one hand and * in another.

Besides the short range of bluetooth pacemaker connectivity, the device is not continuously broadcasting. It sends data to the monitoring device once a day or however the doctor programs it. If the pacemaker were continually broadcasting on bluetooth it would drain the pacemaker battery in no time. Current pacemaker batteries are suppose to be good for ~10 years.

She is in a hole in the desert. A shame because a workable strategy would have been: (1) to admit they killed her; (2) cut off a leg and bury it with GPS location; (3) send the location to family; (4) offer the balance of the body GPS for $$$ bitcoin.

Then the family would have gotten the body back which, for an 84 year old kidnap murder victim is about the best that can be had. I’d pay.

I don’t think I’d call Tucson rural, but the Sherrif’s office doesn’t have much/any experience with kidnappings, especially of the mother of a nationally known celebrity and they probably should’ve turned this case over to the FBI quickly.

The Pima County Sheriff tells local affiliate KOLD last night’s operation was:
“Nothing more than a lead tracked down that led to a search warrant and no arrest.”

Poor Nancy Guthrie was taken across the border into Mexico…

Or she was in the back of the SUV they held the yellow sheet over to block cameras.

If she’s in Mexico, she’s in some mass grave by now, as the mass media focus makes her more trouble than she’s worth.

Poor Nancy Guthrie and her family ... very sad.

Those dumbass counties down in the SE corner of Arizona have always had corrupt, screwed up elections all the way back to the 1800s. Before ICE, back in the early 1900s, the ahos on the left were pissed off at the Arizona Rangers for arresting the bad guys and livestock thieve, many of home were Democrats. The SOBs shut down the Arizona Rangers. This crap of the DemocRAT kissing criminal butts is nothing new. When the left and their illegal alien butt wipers were “cancelling” the Civil War soldiers from the south, they also “cancelled” all monuments and statues of Texas Rangers. The DemocRATS are not only anti-law and order, they are pro-criminal. They always have been.
