Yes. I was raised by a grandmother and a father who was old enough to be my grandfather. I was there until each died; but if I hadn’t been, they were fully capable of handling their own affairs and day-to-day lives, and would have been completely against being ‘managed’ by a caregiver.

ohhh well that sorta makes sense so what are the results doesnt take so long..and if that private lab used ALL the DNA in the glove to try to get a match than the feds cant do anything with the glove all the dna would have been destroyed

No....most often it’s prosecuted by state officers. The Feds have concurrent jurisdiction when an overt act takes place on Federal land, involves a Federal officer or, most likely here, interstate commerce (eg telephone, email, text etc) has been used to commit the offense.

Es no le hace-Patel isn’t going to blab about what they really know, since the incident is still an open investigation-if he has to talk, he is going to mislead. That coming out and blabbing every clue is what the FJB DOJ did-were they trustworthy?
He might know more about the situation than anyone suspects.

Wouldn’t it be the best scam of all if Samantha’s mom rolled everybody by setting this up herself to get back some of the money she might consider wasted on her kid(s), or just to watch them squirm because they pissed her off-then took the money and absconded to a non-extradition country? That would be a major prank...
I’m afraid it’s very different from that.
Looking at her home, she’s obviously worth a lot herself, and that her daughter is wealthy is known.
I’m afraid she really has wound up a victim of someone’s bad intent.
I hope that she’s alive, but the story is so crazy, and it’s been so many days.
