“President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard and active-duty Marine personnel to U.S. cities cost approximately $496 million between June and December last year, according to an estimate from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.”

And the embezzlement by elected officials?
Exactly.
What are the maintenance costs of these Guard units when they are not deployed to DC or sent to some field exercise or drills in some armory?
None of it would be necessary if Democrat officials ever did their jobs.
Why do the liars at the WaCompost always lie and claim “non-partisan”. The CBO is off by a factor of 2 or more on at least 79% of their “predictions” and in EVERY case, it favors the left. Not some, not most. There has not been one single case since 2016 that it favored the right in their prediction.
So what! Billions go to illegal’s from our S.S. & Medicare ,that we as American citizens have paid into all our lives. They don’t deserve a F#@KING penny of that money. You are pushing us closer and closer and when we get to that point ,you C@CKSUKERS are going to wish you self deported with the illegal’s!
Actually, it’s more than that federally. In 2023, it was 171 billion and the state and local costs added in made the total between $595 billion and $1.7 trillion, depending on whether you take the most generous numbers for the Biden misadministration or if you take the most conservative estimates.
money well spent.
It costs so much per day to have anything. The way this is calculated is to assign that daily cost to the items used in a particular operation to that operation. They don’t mention those costs would, for the most part, be paid anyway regardless of where or what those assets would be assigned to. My guess with the pay to the national guard is that they consider this part of the yearly exercise and training. The actual net cost would be items consumed that would not be normal to other operations, such as, for example three meals per day that are bought on location rather than provided by the military and perhaps fuel purchased for cash outside the normal supply system.
Post 9-11 the ARNG became the poster child for deployments. At NGB the mantra was relevancy and they raised they raised their hands at every opportunity while the RA gladly accepted so they could take a break. It was like the ARNG became the vacation replacement crew for the RA. While being a fulltime support soldier for the ARNG I noticed the regulations went out the window while M-day soldiers were being deployed at rates comparable to the RA, even the fulltime support staff would be plucked to fill critical rolls. You could be a guard bum and make RA paychecks as long as you wanted and willing to deploy. Although it has subsided somewhat it is still possible to Game the system for lack of better terms. Now for the bare facts. ARNG is title 32 which makes it possible to use them for a plethora of deployments in state or intrastate operations where the RA cannot perform those duties because of Posse Comitatus. At any given time there happens to be ARNG troops deployed somewhere CONUS to do natural disaster, crown control, security and humanitarian missions to name a few. It is a viable alternative and can be converted to title 10 for federal missions in a blink. Is this a good thing? Sure is. It keeps M-day soldiers honed up on their duties while performing those duties prohibited by the RA. I would rather spend money for the ARNG deployments than a handout to illegals and leaches but it does have limitations. When state activated you are under the Governors control and paid with state funds unless it is a declared emergency. Politics can drive the mission and if the order is not explicitly illegal soldiers are required to follow the guidance. Tampon Timmy deployed the ARNG to handout snacks, coffee and hot chocolate to protesters. Now you can see the conflict when an abuse of the regulations can come into play. Coddling protesters is not a viable mission for the ARNG where crowd control is. I advocate for the ARNG deployments for readiness but within the correct context of their mission statements, not political whims.
I’d rather pay this than spending 2 dollar on studying gay trans reproduction strategies in uganda.
Heck, Biden would spend that much on gay basket weaving in Nigeria, without blinking an eye.
That’s a lot of Learing Centers.
All lies and deceptions.
They are following the Alinski playbook. But what they really mean is that is fine for them to have weapons and keep their money. They just don't want you to do either of those activities.
That’s all.
The issue is never the issue.
They are doing their jobs - which is to steal as much as they can, as fast as they can. Lies and deceptions are the required tactics for that.

How much did illegals cost the US taxpayer? Question, if someone murders a person, why spend money on police investigations? Their dead after all…..
The Compost is VERY selective in its outrage of what taxpayer money is spent for.
Great job, Washington Compost. 👏 👏 👏 Now do how much illegal immigration costs taxpayers.
