Loaded P320, at least 1 loaded clip. There is only one logical reason he showed up on the scene with that mush ammo. He hoped to provoke ICE into shooting at him and/or so he could shoot at them. IMHO

His choice was....work or protest....he chose poorly.
Carrying a gun in MN in the commission of another crime is a crime in and of itself and since he was also not carrying his ID in the commission of another crime (interfering with law enforcement, obstruction, impeding, etc) he had no 2nd amendment right to carry it.
I think he was just keeping records at the VA facility (from his history) and not actually caring for vets.
I often carry a spare MAGAZNE for my weapon - BTW; clips are used to hold ammo to ease the loading of magazines...
nothing wrong with being armed - but arming oneself to participate in a inciteful event ain’t the smart way to go - even armed, I would avoid such “events” - and exit quickly if one started up around me.

It's been my observation throughout life, hardcore leftists see no reason to separate work or protest and these days, seasoned by the likes of obama and biden, are approaching extreme times. I'd check his work records, too.
I just watched a video, where a man breaks down shots from other videos to demonstrate what actually/probably happened. It shows that his gun was loaded...as they wrestled with him, one noticed his gun and shouted, “gun”, that’s when some drew their weapons. The man that disarmed him was moving away when the weapon went off (as that type weapon has a history of doing unintentionally) and it looks like they were keyed up and since it was within a second of the disarming, word hadn’t gotten around and it looks lie their response reaction was “contagious” gunfire, which is perfectly understandable under the conditions.

People in authority, and especially in law enforcement, should NEVER say what a leftist government offal can use as a precedent to render the 2A useless. Never.
What Noem said was nearly as bad (that Pretti didn't have ID and was therefore committing a crime). Is she saying CCW people must wear visible badges readable from 100ft or risk getting shot? Of course not, but with that offering a leftist DHS offal could claim precedent citing her statement.
I understand how real the pressure is to offer answers in a situation like this, but this is why we should expect special people in positions of power. Sometimes we have to be the adults in the room and say, "We don't know all the facts of the case yet. Let's wait until we have at least the body cam data fully reviewed."
Mr Pretty was in a bad neighborhood. He could also easily be mistaken for a non-protester given the way he was dressed. He was prepared for the area, but maybe not (smartly) for the event.
There are some curious things about this incident, no doubt…
