A Border Patrol agent shot a 37-year-old American citizen dead in Minneapolis in a killing caught on camera.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told the Daily Mail that the victim was armed with two magazines, and that the gun has since been recovered by federal authorities.
The shooting occurred during what appeared to be a struggle involving multiple agents just after 9am Saturday morning near Glam Doll Donuts at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue.
Video shows agents wrestling the man to the ground before one federal agent fires multiple shots into his chest, after which the agents scatter.
This marks the third shooting in recent weeks involving federal agents in Minneapolis - coming after an ICE officer fatally shot Renee Nicole Good on January 7 and another federal agent wounded a man about a week later.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said the person shot is believed to be a 37-year-old white US citizen who lived in the city. The Minnesota Star Tribune identified him as Alex Jeffrey Pretti.
During the news conference, O'Hara said the man's only contact with police, to their knowledge, was related to parking tickets.
The chief said officials have identified the man - who is believed to have had a gun permit - though his name has not yet been released. Minnesota law allows permit holders to openly carry handguns in public without concealing them.
DHS shared a photo of the firearm which was seen lying on the passenger seat of a car.
Minneapolis city officials have since addressed the emerging news on X, stating they 'are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area.'
'We are working to confirm additional details,' the department's post read. 'We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area.'

Yeah, I agree. When I carry, at least one reload is with me. Always. I would like to see the slowed down video in a bit more detail. The perp's coat is swinging around so much it's hard to see.
Bottom line, when I'm carrying, mags or not, I'm not challenging LE. Dumb move for sure.
The woke crowd grew up with almost no education at all.
I watched multiple videos of the events in Minneapolis this morning.
A couple of observations:
A) Two women were exercising their first amendment rights toward the ICE guys.
B) Victim was exercising his rights by filming the exchange.
C) ICE guy violently shoves woman to the ground.
D) Victim moves in between the ICE guy and the woman to protect her.
E) ICE guys pepper spray victim, and begin to move their assault to him, instead of her.
F) Seven or eight ICE guys get the victim down on the ground, beat him, pistol whip him, take his (perfectly legal) weapon from its holster, take it away from the melee, and then shoot him multiple times, killing him.
That’s the sequence. He was clearly already disarmed when they opened fire. He never unholstered his perfectly legal weapon himself.
They executed the guy.
Matt Dillon was the TV killing machine, and he meant it.
Freedom of speech? Here is a soap box — go stand over there and tell the world how you feel about ICE.
Peaceable assembly? There’s a spot over there — you and your friends can stand over there and hold signs telling the world how you feel about ICE.
Right to bear arms? Okay but you need an ID or else you’re in violation.
You lay hands on law enforcement? You blow whistles in people’s ears? You disrupt law enforcement activities? I consider that a riot and I think getting shot is definitely on the table.

At first, I thought maybe I can give them a bit of a pass there, most of them are young enough they might have missed those (even though there were cable channels that played those old re-runs). But then there was this educational vid by Chris Rock, which no one has an excuse for not having seen.

That’s either a bug in the posting history portion of this site, or a miracle to come out of a coma that began in 2018 to come here and make that their first post back to the living.

Absolutely.
Let me rewrite that from the not-DU perspective:
A) Two professional agitator women were initially keeping their distance while screaming at ICE agents.
B) Professional agitator camera guy videos.
C1) (conveniently omitted by DU) women approach closer and physically interfere with ICE agents.
C) ICE guy shoves woman to the ground.
D) Camera guy, who decided to bring his pistol and two mags today, decides to escalate by grappling with the ICE agent. Did I mention that he brought a firearm at a time when Democrat officials are outright advocating citizens start gunning down agents?
E) ICE guys swarm and grapple with the armed camera guy.
F) The camera guy decides it’s a good idea to actively resist being detained as if he’s going to single-handedly overcome multiple guys with gear and firearms. Resisting + armed = agent sees gun = shots fired.
That’s the sequence. Armchair quarterbacks will play this back to the millsecond as if ICE agents on the street haven’t been hearing moment to moment calls for them to be shot and have pause-action before they need to make life or death decisions.
tl;dr: Another professional martyr does exactly what in almost any confrontation with police will get you shot, and gets shot. The left is giddy; I just watched a vid of a “Antifa general” telling people to go get their guns and start blasting. The Dems are doubling down on arresting and jailing everyone vaguely MAGA first chance they get. (That means all of us).
Did he pull or was he just carrying? It’s important.
