At his first appearance at the World Economic Forum, Elon Musk predicted artificial intelligence will soon be smarter than any human alive.
“AI might be smarter than any human by the end of 2026,” Musk said, adding “no later than 2027.” Five years out, he went further: “AI will be smarter than all of humanity, collectively.”
Musk also warned that robots are coming fast — and in massive numbers. “There will be far more robots than people,” he told the globalist audience, describing an automation boom that will upend labour, economics and power structures far sooner than regulators are ready for.
Asked what drives him, Musk didn’t cite climate targets or social engineering schemes. Instead, he pointed to science fiction and turning it into reality. “I want to make science fiction not fiction forever — at some point science fiction to science fact,” he said.
Musk spoke of “giant spaceships traveling through space,” visiting other planets and star systems, adding with a shrug: “Are there aliens? Maybe there are aliens.”

Sounds like a real big mess
So lets end immigration since we don’t need more people (and send back all of Elon’s beloved H1B Indians)
Paradise.
Best case scenario — robots grow your food, robots manufacture your stuff, the government sends you a check every month. You sit at home and order whatever it is you need for a decent lifestyle, and a robot truck delivers it to your residence.
And everyone is bored to death and decides to burn down their local city to have a bit of fun.
I don’t like the sound of what is expected to become a massive invasion of robots everywhere. Not that I could do anything about it. Seems to me, if the robots are so efficient, we should not need to be swamped with physical hardware from coast to coast. The sources should be centered in various parts of each community which decides to use them.
AI might even take over the rioting currently done by perverts and democrats..................
God has something to say about that.
In these environments, Elon always looks to me like his got smart contacts on. His stammering fits with his eyes going left to right as if he is reading his lenses.
China has already deployed Robocops.
And be pissed cuz Grok is still moderated
“”Sounds like a real big mess””
Agree...Glad I’m on the back end of the mess that’s about to come...It’s hard enough accepting the changes in the past 20 years..I have no desire to live through the coming changes. The maternal side of my family has LONGEVITY and I don’t wish to duplicate that - 105 and 107 years old great aunt and uncle. I know it’s not up to me but it’s my opinion.....
but those companies want AI to make them money and it’s not
“”AI might even take over the rioting currently done by perverts and democrats””
AND Congress perhaps...couldn’t be any worse, could it?
AI to date is dumb as shxt. It can definitely search things faster but it’s assessment and predictive analysis is 3rd grade level in my time...or PHd level in today’s colleges.
Well, we are going to need the robots. Since the Indians wont even let us tech workers apply for tech jobs anymore. It is very strange to be discriminated against on the basis of national origin for being an American in America. Has that ever happened before?
That is what I do now. Except the “burning down” stuff. I will have to put that on my calendar!
The H-1b work visa is one of the most heinous evil things EVER.. End it now!!!
Sensible people can sit at home, have hobbies, socialize, learn new skills, and enjoy life.
But a lot of people don’t have patience, they don’t have interests, and they have poor impulse control. They are not going to sit at home and write poetry or engage in wood working. Burning Cities may not be on your dance card, but they have it on theirs.
“I want to make science fiction not fiction forever — at some point science fiction to science fact,” he said
Musk is an incredible guy but never trust an idealogue or idealist on timing of predictions.
