Writing Disappeared

As I was typing in a contribution to Free Republic and ready to hit the Enter Key, it all disappeared. Yep all that I had typed had simply disappeared. No warning message, nothing. Has it happened to anyone else? Then it hit me,

Whenever I type something into a comment box, whether on FR or any other site, I always reflexively hit CTRL-A (select all) and CTRL-C (copy) before submitting. You’d be surprised how often that saves a post that otherwise disappears into the ether...

Whenever I type something into a comment box, whether on FR or any other site, I always reflexively hit CTRL-A (select all) and CTRL-C (copy) before submitting. You’d be surprised how often that saves a post that otherwise disappears into the ether... BINGO!
And, I use one more step. If I am typing anything of any length, I use the same method, over and over. After typing a few minutes, Select All & Copy. Typing a few more minutes, Select All & Copy.
You can do the same thing on a tablet or phone. Highlight one word, Select All, Copy.

are you sure you physically clicked into, set the cursor into the text box? To date I still look up after typing and realize im not typing at all! Never understood why John never coded to set the focus into the reply box...
