A federal judge on Friday issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) and blocked ICE from arresting so-called peaceful protestors.
US District Judge Katherine Menendez, a Biden appointee, also blocked ICE agents from deploying non-lethal munitions and crowd dispersal tools against protestors.
Six individuals sued The DHS, DHS Chief Kristi Noem and other federal agencies to restrict ICE’s tactics.
Approximately 3,000 federal agents have descended on Minnesota to arrest criminal illegal aliens.
Judge Menendez also ruled that protestors may ‘safely’ follow ICE vehicles.
The judge ruled:
Covered Federal Agents are hereby enjoined from:
a. Retaliating against persons who are engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest activity, including observing the activities of Operation Metro Surge.
b. Arresting or detaining persons who are engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest activity, including observing the activities of Operation Metro Surge, in retaliation for their protected conduct and absent a showing of probable cause or reasonable suspicion that the person has committed a crime or is obstructing or interfering with the activities of Covered Federal Officers.
c. Using pepper-spray or similar nonlethal munitions and crowd dispersal tools against persons who are engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest activity, including observing the activities of Operation Metro Surge, in retaliation for their protected conduct.
d. Stopping or detaining drivers and passengers in vehicles where there is no reasonable articulable suspicion that they are forcibly obstructing or interfering with Covered Federal Agents, or otherwise violating 18 U.S.C. § 111. The act of safely following Covered Federal Agents at an appropriate distance does not, by itself, create reasonable suspicion to justify a vehicle stop.
Separately, the state of Minnesota sued the Department of Homeland Security to stop federal agents from conducting lawful immigration raids.
Judge Menendez did not immediately issue a TRO on that case. She gave both sides more time to submit arguments.

Black robes are out of control.
Depends on what the definition of “peaceful and unobstructive” is, I guess. I don’t think anyone has voiced an objection to “peaceful” protestors or cars following and not blocking roadways — quite the opposite, in fact. Assault and obstruction are obviously not peaceful.
this doesn’t change anything since no non-violent and law abiding protestors have been hassled or confronted by ICE in any way
Break out the water cannons. (Just to clean the streets. Ha ha).
Time to Federalize the Minn National Guard. Just like JFK and LBJ did under their presidencies.
Illegal issue. A judge can not issue an order that endangers citizens (but of clurse many do just that). Rioters are endagering citizens. Where are the judges to kver-ride such illegzl orders? Ice is there to restore order and protecf the public from dangerous kften violent criminals, znd tk arrest people here illegally. No judge can prevent the enforecement of the law if its not zctuslly violating rights, whuch ice is not doing.
Deport the judge.
It reminds us of a bevy of lawyers somewhere in the bowels of Department Defense, as it was called in those days, who were passing judgment on what targets may or may not be struck in active theaters of war with real soldiers in harm's way.
Courts are established to administer justice after the fact, they are not constitutionally empowered to become Chiefs of Police, they might as well suit up and ride along with SWAT teams.
Just like when the Seditious Six released that video urging U.S. service members to refuse "illegal orders," when no illegal orders have been given.
Was ICE doing any of that anyway?
From what I see they only go after and detain or spray the non-peaceful ones.
The judge is completely lacking in jurisdiction.
I see a pattern here.
Good idea. It is 8 degrees Fahrenheit in Minneapolis.
Turn the protestors into ICE statues.
If I understand this correctly, this TRO doesn’t seem to prevent officers from taking action against physical or physically threatening actions by protestors.
Is judge Menendez an illegal alien? Just curious.
“(Just to clean the streets. Ha ha).”
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
ANd coincidently ice them and the protestors in the process this time of year.
I don’t see ICE agents even paying attention to the peaceful protesters.
The minute the “protesters” (aka anarchists) cross the line into violence, all bets are off.
War is peace.
