@SenRandPaul
I just introduced the End Welfare for Non-Citizens Act to ensure taxpayer-funded benefits are reserved for Americans. This bill ends federal funding for programs like TANF, Medicaid, and SNAP for illegal immigrants, refugees, asylees, and new entrants.
A recent massive fraud scheme—estimated by federal prosecutors to reach $9 billion, shows exactly why we must do more to protect American taxpayers from theft and abuse. Safeguarding public funds is more urgent than ever.
The fraud involved dozens of individuals—many from Minnesota’s Somali community, who set up businesses and non-profits claiming to provide housing, food, or healthcare assistance, then billed federally funded state programs for services that were never delivered.
Nearly $700 million in cash was also flown out of Minneapolis airport by Somali couriers in 2024 and 2025 alone; averaging almost $1 million a day. This demands further investigation for ties to the rampant fraud.
I’ve been clear on this from day one, and the record backs it up. I’ve consistently pushed for accountability and real results, and we have the receipts to prove it.
Congress must protect hardworking Americans from fraud. Taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be stolen or sent to noncitizens, especially while our nation is deep in debt. It’s time to put Americans first and crack down on waste and abuse.

There are already laws on the books that preclude new immigrants, legal and illegal, from receiving government benefits.
But the government passes laws that the people demand to show they are actually working - then they just ignore their own laws
or build loopholes into the laws they pass.
So trying to pass a new law is basically for show and not necessary.
What is needed is the backbone to enforce existing laws.
Legal immigrants are required by federal law to have a sponsor who agrees to provide for their welfare if necessary.
Illagal aliens are illegal by definitiion (Duh!) and by law not entitled to any government aid other than a fast trip
out of the USA.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
U.S. law, primarily through the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA), requires most intending immigrants
to have a financial sponsor who signs a legally binding Affidavit of Support (Form I-864), promising to maintain the immigrant at 125% of federal
poverty guidelines to prevent them from becoming a public charge.
The sponsor, usually the family member or employer filing the petition, enters into a contract with the government, ensuring they’ll repay certain
public benefits if the immigrant uses them, with responsibilities lasting until the immigrant becomes a citizen or accrues 40 work quarters (about 10 years)
Immigration and Nationality Act: Sections 212(a)(4) and 213A establish the public charge rule and Affidavit of Support requirements.
This alone will cause millions of illegals to self-deport.
Save money BY deporting illegals. What’s not to love?
Spend five minutes in any ER in this country and you’ll see the law flouted routinely.
I will say since Trump is back in the illegal alien traffic in my hospitals ER has dropped significantly.
And this is in southern NJ.
This is going to require polish.
Green card holders are to be excluded from the restrictions?
A man marrying a foreign lady, bringing her to America, getting her a green card, popping out a couple of American children and then the guy turns into an alcoholic and divorce follows.
Is she cut off?
What is needed is the backbone to enforce existing laws.
unfortunately there are so many laws today, we are all guilty of something .................................
“they won’t like it” which hints now many are on the take.
Come on.. .He deserves an ‘attaboy’ for this
Rand also if you look has a flawless record on spending
The debate and vote will be very informative, no’?
No polish needed. Is she a citizen? No? Then she gets nothing. She can get a job like the millions of other working mothers who pay taxes. Work and child support. Like most single mothers. Or she can go back where she came from. I didn’t bring her here and it shouldn’t be up to me to support her.
I would not support that. I support: medically stabilize, arrest, deport.
How about the “Make Crime Illegal Again Act”?
Yes, AGREE with all you said.
“ If you immigrate to the US you get 1 year of free stuff then you work or get deported.”
No. My ancestors didn’t get jack squat.
What does Trump have to do to get the US out from under the Refugee Convention?
Send (or hand deliver) the Secretary-General of the United Nations a letter!
****
Dear Secretary-General of the United Nations:
I, Donald J. Trump, the President of the United States, on behalf of the United States, do denounce the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 Protocol, as permitted by Article 44.
Donald J. Trump
Rip her kids from her? Deport those Americans?
“If you immigrate to the US you get 1 year of free stuff then you work or get deported”
No.
I didn’t say anything about deportation. I said I didn’t bring her here so not my job to take care of her. If she decides to go back where she came from she can take them or leave them.
Honestly, I don’t give a rat’s patootie what she does. I just know I don’t want to support another one. Compassion is what got us in this mess to start with.
well then I hope you are fine with waiting hours in the emergency room and paying 10 times what you should because 50 illegals that can’t pay are ahead of you.
The kids are Americans. You would force them out.
Lemme get some stats:
Looks like well over half of all green cards are for spouses of Americans. There is no requirement for such a person to have good English. It is perfectly legal for such a spouse to bring a translator to the green card interview.
So, how easy will it be for such a non English speaking lady to become a working single mom paying daycare because her American hubby became an alcoholic? If she is so poor as to require assistance, she won’t have funding to leave the country and pay the plane tickets for her American children, either — assuming they have jobs for her elsewhere and daycare.
The whole idea needs work.
He’ll be against it as soon as the Republicans support it.
