Prince is back on the pop charts. So are Kate Bush and Fleetwood Mac. That can only mean one thing: Netflix's Stranger Things finale, which dropped Dec. 31, is shaking up the Billboard Hot 100.
Three decades-old songs that appear in the finale pop up this week: Prince and the Revolution's "Purple Rain" at No. 27, Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" at No. 41 and Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" (which the show had already boosted a few years ago) at No. 46. The rise of "Landslide," one of Fleetwood Mac's signature songs, is especially notable: Though a live version of the track charted briefly in the late '90s, the 1975 studio version — the one that appeared on Stranger Things — had never before cracked the Hot 100.
Half a century ago, Fleetwood Mac released what would go on to become not just one of the band’s most beloved songs, but what is regarded as one of the best-written tunes of all time. “Landslide” has always been adored, and yet it was never pushed as an official single, so some casual listeners might be surprised to learn that the track never reached a number of important charts, despite its incredible popularity.
Fleetwood Mac scores its first new placement on the Official Singles chart in well over a decade. The last time the band debuted a track on the competitive 100-spot roster was back in the spring of 2009, when “The Chain” finally became a smash.

Actually that was the second version of Fleetwood Mac.
The first version they had a guitarist named Peter Green who was a very good blues guitarist. Totally different sound.
I grew up with the latter but really liked the first version, maybe better.
Dunno. I was much younger and less discerning of such things. I have since come to realize the reality of the degradedness of so many in the music industry. I love the Blues but most of those old Blues guys were horrible human beings. I prefer now to learn nothing about artists, actors etc. Just enjoy the music.
