Not even a month in the hospital on a feeding tube was enough to make Sydni Collins quit pot. Collins had reached for her weed pen most days since she turned 16, even as waves of extreme nausea and vomiting overtook her. One particularly brutal episode left her vomiting nonstop during a flight in the spring break of her senior year.
“There were some days when it lasted until noon and I would not go to school because of how bad it was,” Collins, 23, told The Post. “I would be puking all morning. I would let out yells or cries because nothing would come out. I was just dry heaving.”
She was experiencing cannabis hyperemesis syndrome, a debilitating condition that triggers episodes of relentless nausea, abdominal pain and severe vomiting in chronic weed users. “Scromiting” is the nightmare blend of screaming and vomiting.

Waaaaaait a minute. Sounds almost like overdosing. I have it on good authority that it’s impossible to O.D. on marijuana.

I was a super-hyperactive kid, on the last day of the 1960s, a relative gave me the strongest weed, not cannabis sativa, but opiated cannabis indica, Cambodian, that they give old people to keep them quiet, but when strong, vigorous young soldiers take 1 hit, they pass out cold. You don’t give strong dope to a natively psychotic teenager. I ended up homeless on the street. Lunatic Asylum officials in the British Raj had a whole class of inmates who had become permanently psychotic from being Hashashians. Meatball’s killer son probably had done dope. Alex Berenson, author of “Tell Your Children: The Truth About Marijuana, Mental Illness, and Violence”, is married to a Chief Psychiatrist at the Mid Hudson Forensic Psychiatric unit, where they have the real psychos and even some cannibals. He asks her, “so, do many of them ‘smoke’ every day”? “Oh, all of them.” Berenson is skeptical, she tells him, “it’s all in the research, look it up”.
I have only read about this recently and so I did a little reading. Turns out that you can buy edibles, vapes, gumbies with ridiculously stupid amounts of thc. 70% - 80% even higher. That’s probably why this is a recent thing, I know several people who have been smoking pot daily for decades and even they say there should be some restrictions.
That was in the good ole days. Today you can buy edibles, gumbies, vapes, etc. with 70% and higher thc amounts.
I find this very strange.
Legal cannabis is pretty much guaranteed to be a plant with no additives. People have been smoking the plant for a long time, and there are stories of psychosis and schizophrenia, lack of ambition, and all kinds of similar things. Plenty of room for debate on the plusses and minuses.
But, as far as I know, the scromiting thing appeared within the past few years. Why? If they are buying illegally, maybe it’s an additive of some kind. If it’s from a legal product, then I really don’t get it.
I’m avoiding any sort of moral angle on this for now. But if people were reporting that a McDonald’s Big Mac was now causing people across the country to scream and vomit for hours, you’d have to say “Hmmmmmmmmmmm ... what changed? This seems new.”
It was the vape pen. If you are going to smoke weed, smoke weed. The vape pen fries your lungs. Roll a joint, smoke and relax.

Maybe, just a thought, stop smoking!
People like that don’t need weed to get f**ed up they already are f**ed up.
You can’t untrain s**t for brains people.
Supplementing the post I just made, since I skipped over the fact of increased potency of current legal products. That is probably a crucial factor.
But thinking in terms of a liquor store, I know you can buy beer (pretty weak) or whiskey (much stronger) or Everclear grain alcohol (that will mess you up).
Legal cannabis seems to lean pretty heavy toward the “this will mess you up” side of the spectrum which just seems stupid, if you ask me.
Why would your relative do that?

These stories have been going on for a long time - I remember seeing them as soon as soon as Colorado legalized it. I think legalization means some people are using it nonstop.
When it wasn't legal, these stories probably never made it to the news, but now the government and media try to hide negative stories about marijuana, may peace be upon it.
