MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Marion woman accused of attacking a deputy.

UPSO responded to a home in the Linville community after a caller stated their neighbor was trespassing on their property.

Officials say the caller stated the neighbor was standing in their driveway screaming after being told to not trespass on their property on previous occasions.

UPSO says when they arrived, the woman was found swimming nude in a pond on the caller’s property.

According to officials, 41-year-old Erin Elizabeth Sutton initially refused to get out of the pond and speak to deputies, as she was “trying to be a mermaid.”

They say Sutton finally got out of the pond and EMS was called to evaluate her. When asked to step inside a residence, officials say Sutton suddenly charged toward a deputy.

UPSO says Sutton refused to comply and was tased, which reportedly had no effect.

Officials say Sutton continued to resist detention and began kicking and punching the deputy.

Sutton was finally restrained, and EMS arrived to take her to the hospital for further treatment. According to authorities, during transport, Sutton threatened to kill deputies and paramedics.

UPSO says that, due to her requiring medical treatment, they sought warrants for her arrest at a later date.

Sutton was arrested on Jan. 6 and charged with three counts of resisting an officer with force or violence, two counts of public intimidation, two counts of battery of a police officer, one count of disturbing the peace/drunkenness and one count of criminal trespassing.

Her bond was set at $62,000.

Agreed. Decades ago Daryl Hannah made me a bit jealous of Tom Hanks.

“Listen! Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!”

Actually not too bad for a 41 year old that just got pulled out of a Louisiana swamp. Could be a fixer-upper.

Ms Sutton, it’s past time to stop rebelling against ‘the patriarchy’ aka your Psychiatrist, and resume taking your medications - All Of Them!! No ‘Mermaid’ is qualified to treat your delusions.

No.

It is their property and they do not want the delusional lunetic running around on it.

I know the concept of property rights is a difficult one so I will make it very simple.

No yours? Stay off.
