Mark Zuckerberg has found himself at the center of an embarrassing climate change flip-flop, thanks to his $300 million mega yacht.
The 41-year-old Meta boss, worth roughly $230 billion, has reportedly been burning hundreds of thousands of gallons of diesel fuel since launching his personal, 387-foot vessel last year.
The yacht, dubbed Launchpad, runs on four diesel engines that use about 291 gallons of fuel every hour, which allegedly emits 40 tons of CO₂ over that same period of time.
Zuckerberg, an outspoken advocate for climate change policies such as the Paris Agreement and scaling carbon dioxide removal technologies to limit global warming, has been roasted on social media over the yacht's massive carbon footprint.
'Another reminder that Net Zero is only for the peasants,' one person wrote on X next to a video of the massive luxury vessel sailing near Florida.
'Meanwhile ordinary people drive electric cars and recycle, because the planet matters. But for him, apparently, the planet doesn't matter,' another social media user added.
Others called the multi-million-dollar yacht the ultimate 'symbol of hypocrisy,' as Zuckerberg has spent more than $100 million funding climate advocacy and related initiatives through his philanthropic organization.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Meta, which owns Facebook, and Zuckerberg for comment.
Some critics of Zuckerberg's lavish mode of transportation noted that Launchpad was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to climate hypocrisy.
The mega yacht has been accompanied on its journeys by a 220-foot, $30 million support ship called Wingman, which can carry smaller boats, a miniature submarine for exploration and even a helicopter.
'Rich people when they say "we’re all in this together" then fire up four diesel engines,' an X user commented.

He can live on there during the zombie apocalypse.
That’s crazy. How much maintenance-wise and crew-wise does it cost to run that thing?
The US Clean Air Act (CAA) on the Title V regulations of the CAA only regulate “stationary sources”.
Zuckerberg can tell these weenies to go “Zuck It”.
If I were a billionaire I wouldn’t buy mega yachts. Aircraft of every type, yes. Tasty vintage piston driven fighter. Maybe a F-86, too.
What would Trump’s response be if some unknown actor torpedoed the thing in International waters?
Photo.
Since the SS Minnow, we’ve come a long way, baby.
At least the crew convinced him to cancel the tour of the Caribbean off the coasts of Venezuela and Colombia. Even though he said the moonlight is so pretty out there at night.
He’d say “I’m sorry, I’m not aware of that. I’ve been on the phone for hours with my peacekeeping efforts in eight war zones.”
Among the many things I would *not* do is buy a $300 million yacht...or even a $300,000 yacht.
Does that boat meet CAFE standards?
Ugly.
He’s spending it while he still has it Global Warming be damned ,the ones pushing Global warming never believed in it anyway ,LOL
He has a 220-foot, $30 million support ship called Wingman.
Don’t blame him. He has to have some way to spend a his piles of money. This hardly makes a dent on just a fraction of his yearly gain.
Since the SS Minnow, we’ve come a long way, baby.
Could Thurston Howell afford that?
The two happiest days of a boat owner’s life:
The day he buys it.
The day he sells it.
At least Zuckerberg is employing some of us peons while spending his money.
There is no such thing as hypocrisy on the Left.
It is hierarchy.
They are “above.”
We are below (in their twisted minds).
You had me until you said condo in Manhattan…
A dozen foreign nations could use that ship for naval warfare target practice.
Lol.
