You should store your firearms in a place that's safe and sensible.
This guy, alas, did not follow that advice.
Des Moines police detectives are asking for the public's help locating a man wanted for gun and drug charges.
Police believe Dameian Buckner, 36, was in possession of two handguns and 'delivery quantity' marijuana when officers responded to investigate a report of gunfire at his home. Buckner was injured when a handgun stored in an oven fired multiple rounds as the oven was heating up, according to police.
Dude treated his gun like a frickin' Thanksgiving turkey.

Here's the post from police:

It's true, by the way — this can happen.
Mythbusters proved it:

The genius baker apparently "received an upper arm injury" from the cooked bullets; when police showed up to investigate the gunfire report, they apparently found the unlawfully owned handguns and the marijuana.
When it comes to putting your guns in the oven:

Firearm Oven, Find Out

Okay. Look behind that cabinet across from the oven. And on the pantry door. There, on the ceiling... and I think that’s some there in the dog’s bowl! And over here...
Where can I hide my loaded firearms if I take them out of the oven? I tried the dish washer, but that did not work well. (/s for those with no sense of humor)
There’s a title you don’t see every day. I had to read it a couple of times.
Keep them in the Microwave!.................
I use the microwave all the time. I was thinking about the fireplace.
I nearly burned a friend’s house down while house sitting a few months ago. He never used the over so he used it for storing assorted linens.
I turned on the oven to preheat. Luckily I was there when the smoke started.
I don’t recommend storing flammable items in an oven. Especially ammunition.
when I store my my guns in the oven, or with my oily rags next to the furnace, I always make sure the safety is ON
that way the wife and kids don’t get hurt when baking or cooking
c’mon people, use some common sense!!
I used to hide all my firearms on my boat. Don’t be like me.
I had two 8lb cannisters of IMR 4895 smokeless powder for reloading stored in the oven. I moved them to the dish washer and then I recalled that that is a bad hidey spot.
FAFO
LOL
Everyone’s knows what it means to have a bun in the oven,
so what was this guy expecting?
Something either got ‘lost in translation’, or he’s just plain hard of hearing. One or the other would certainly explain why he put a gun in the oven.
Or perhaps this was just another one of his half-baked ideas.
It could have been much worse. At least he didn’t try to put a pun in the oven.
It would have brought down the house.
Well, the safe thing about a microwave is you have to put stuff in it first, so you open the door................
Wasn’t there a movie where a guy hid a gun in the aquarium?...................
Yes, you have to push the guns to the back so the possum will fit.
I’m not 100% sure that would work..................🤔
