Congratulations! 21 years for me, although I started lurking just after 9/11 (a political awakening for me). I spend quite a bit of time on this site every day. Its lasting power is just amazing.
Newbie! Thanks a lot. I missed my 25th on 11/17/2000.
I’d lurked on FR since X42/AOL? (cannot remember - maybe just listening to Rush) came out but didn’t sign up because PIAPS had a “List” that I didn’t want to be on.
But with Gore counting votes long after election day I signed up. Best news and subjects site on the NET.
So many sites I can’t tell whose responding to who or whatever.
Too time consuming.

I came from Drudge Report and White Water - just visited for awhile and signed up in 2001.
I found FR during BushI’s Iraq/Kuwait War. It was refreshing to find people who recognized that the Middle East would be a losing quagmire. Of course there were plenty of beat the drum types, but generally the FR attracts a mixed set of opinions.

Actually I don’t like the term senior Freeper. I suggest we use Freeper Emeritus. 25 years and older.

I don’t remember my first sign up date as user Carol Roberts but it was sometime in late 2000. I wanted to change my screen name but didn’t, and simply created a new account.
I asked:

That was during the Bush/Gore controversy.
That thread is legacy and no longer available. Now I have to wait for Feb 3, 2027 to get my 25 years in with “scripter.”
