DRC Mine Landslide Disaster: 80 Killed in Seconds
Nature RRT ^ | Nov 16, 2025 | Nature RRT

A catastrophic landslide struck an artisanal mine in Kawama, Lualaba Province, Democratic Republic of Congo on November 15, 2025, killing at least 80 people within seconds. This footage shows the moment the cliff collapsed and the tragic aftermath that followed.

Artisanal mining in the DRC is extremely dangerous โ€” miners work without safety gear, under unstable rock walls, driven by poverty and demand for cobalt and copper used worldwide in electronics and EV batteries.

This video documents the human cost behind those minerals โ€” the risk, the suffering, and the lives lost.

The tens of millions of aborted infants in the United States send their sympathies to the families of those killed in the mine landslide.

Joy Reid’s home country.
Maybe she can go do all her usual anti Trump hate nonsense from a microphone there and solve the problem.

If you buy one soon some of the money will, no doubt, help lift the survivors out of poverty. Or not.

Green energy is the most deadly energy in use.
The ratio of deaths to kWh is staggering.

โ€œโ€ฆdemand for cobalt and copper used worldwide in electronics and EV batteries.โ€

This is what EVs do to get the consumer their 3,500 pound vehicles to us who pretend that plugging the car in saves petroleum consumption

80 people dead in a second. Kids too

Yes, mining is very dangerous, leeching causing water and air contamination, fires from batteries practically impossible to put out, deaths from pollution, thousands of dead birds from windmills, all kinds of danger.

The purpose of EVs was to get rid of ICE vehicles.

Then they will get rid of the EVs, and it’s “goodbye personal transportation!”

Better to die in seconds than be trapped for days until you run out of air.

Additional problem.
Cleaning solar cells.
People tend to fall of the roofs while cleaning!

While there was indeed a landslide, it was a collapse and that collapse triggered the landslide.

Mining is a very dangerous way to earn a living. I could never do it myself because of the dangers they present to the workers, and the compensation doesn't even come close to being worth it.

The Mystery of Blind Frog Ranch, a TV series where they are searching for 3 + billion of gold believed to be located in the mine tunnel systems created by the Incas who were supposedly hiding their gold from the Spanish Conquistadors, are under their ranch.

When they go into these mines it's hard for me to watch, and even for a possible 3 billion pay day, I wouldn't venture into them at all.

For me, there i sno amount that would gt me in to those mies which are long, and old and in my opinion are ready to collapse in on themselves. Not worth it to me. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค™

It's too much risk. If I knew for sure that death would be almost instanteous, that would be one thing, but being trapped for 2 months as was the case of the minning collapse in Chile in 2010 that trapped 33 miners, and only one was finally resuced after drilling a verticle shaft down 2, and used a cage that that was just a little bit smaller than the shaft, is my biggest fears. Especially when the cage got hung up about halfway up in that tiny sjaft, but was finally resolved, though I can't really remember how long that took. I stopped watching the movie at that point, for just seeing it, is enough to stop watching right there. I can't imagine the emoional trauma I would face actually expereincing it. I panicj quicly in enclosed situations. An elevator is alright, but if it is crowded with no room to manuever I would most likely lose it completely.

I remember that girl that was jidnapped and was buried undergrounf with ai being supplied. I had nightmares for weeks after that.
