Anyone here remember this 1981 movie? It's been a favorite of mine for a long time. I think it is one Sean Connery's better films and I recommend it if you like him as a actor or a serious drama. I ordered my 4K copy of this and hope to watch it this weekend.

Was a decent little movie. Wild West in space sort of vibe, with Sheriff Connery! He also had another good sleeper flick around this same time, ‘The Name of the Rose’. Good mystery movie set near the end of medieval times.

My favorite scene is where Peter Boyle comes out of the john at the same time the toilet is flushing.

It’s a retelling of High Noon. It does also have Alien universe vibes because of the mining factory in space.

I remember it—one of my favorite SciFi thrillers.

I vaguely remember this one. I know I’ve seen parts of it, but I can’t remember if I watched all of it.

Only movie to have a Browning B2000 shotgun in it.

I wouldn’t call it awesome but it’s a decent and rewatchable movie. Got it on blu-ray, don’t know if I need the 4k version of it...

(although it’s “awesome” compared to anything put out in the last few years... excluding John Wick... :D )

Saw it in the theater. Was impressed by how believably bad it made life in space look.

One of my favorites.

“Maybe they are right. They sent me here to this pile of s*** because they think I belong here. I want to find out if — well if they’re right. There’s a whole machine that works because everybody does what they are supposed to. And I found out — I was supposed to be something I didn’t like. That’s what’s in the program. That’s my rotten little part in the rotten machine. I don’t like it. So I’m going to find out if they’re right.”
Federal Marshal William O’Niel, Outland (1981).

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

I saw it in theatres with my dear older brother, may he rest in peace.

We always watched SciFi movies together, and TV shows like Space 1999 and Star Trek too. He was that rare older sibling that wasn’t embarassed to be seen with his kid sister. I miss him so much!

Absolutely an awesome movie. It has some slow parts, but once the assassins show up the movie really finishes well.

I believe we can add Highlander in the mix. Another great Connery flick.

I thought it was a terrific movie.

Most memorable line: “this blood is from a dead person.”

Very well, fun movie - High Noon in Space.

Peter Boyle was excellent in his role, Connery being Connery is always a win. Barbara Sternhagen as the doctor was a real fail - just miserable.
