Starbucks apologizes after Bearista cup launch sparks chaos: 'Exceeded even our biggest expectations'

Starbucks has issued an apology to customers after the release of its limited-edition teddy bear–shaped holiday cup sparked chaos.

The Seattle-based coffee giant launched its 2025 holiday menu and merchandise on Thursday, including the Glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup, which retails for $29.95.

The collectible cup — shaped like a bear and topped with a green beanie lid — went viral online and sold out quickly, leaving fans scrambling to get their hands on one.

"The excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations and, despite shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item this holiday season, the Bearista cup and some other items sold out fast," a Starbucks spokesperson told FOX Business in an email.

Many of these purchasers (I imagine) are millennials who just can't seem to come up with the down for a home purchase ...

Years ago, when GW Bush was president we had a guy in our office who would blame Bush for anything and everything. He'd always stand around in the morning with a cup of that Starbucks swill bitching about something. One morning it was the price of gasoline… I think it was like $1.90 then… and he'd go on and on. One day I had enough and I asked him how much the Starbucks cost and it turns out that little cup of burnt coffee cost him more every morning than the gas he burnt getting to work and getting home.

In all honestly, when the 'Beannie Baby' craze was in full throttle, I DID drive through Mc Donald's every lunch break to get a Happy Meal so my BFF could MAYBE get a specific 'Beanie' that her kids needed for their 'collection.' *Rolleyes*

I just went on ebay and there is a mug on there like this one for $79.99 plus $9.99 shipping. I didn’t look to see if anyone is bidding on it.

I had co-workers like that in my office. One in particular thought I was like Chevy Chase, until she asked, “Wasn’t Maher *funny* last night?!” And I got tired of playing, replied, “I don’t watch that [expletive deleted]. He’s an [another expletive deleted] with arms.”
They always assume that you must agree with them, whatever the topic, whether “global warming” the plight of the homeless, welcome refugees, whatever.
She left me alone after that exchange.
Guy passes us (I’m just a kid OK?) in a jalopy with expensive chrome wheels, jacked rear end, Dad points, says, “Bet he doesn’t know where his next meal is coming from.”
The older I got, the smarter he got. (And he was even grumpier than me ...)

Bear? What happened to the fish-tailed chick?

I'm still a bit surprised the feminazis haven't called out Starbucks over their logo. If a normal woman with legs was in the same pose as the mermaid, what would that imply?

The chick is still there, and is performing a dance on the bear’s lap if you zoom in on the photo.

Humans are weird.

I mean, it is cute if you are under ten. Maybe 14 if you are female.

But I don't think people are shopping for stocking stuffers for their kids.

If they are then ok and I apologize for jumping to conclusions but some how I don't think I am.
