“...households earning under $100,000...”

How is it that taking in $100k is poverty?

They all suck but they used to be somewhat cheap. Now it’s all expensive.

You can scarcely get out of a restaurant these days for less than 25 bucks per person, beverage, tax and tip. And that is minimal. By the time you are spending 60 bucks four times a month for a Sunday breakfast, it gets to be an expensive item.

getting that financial data from the credit card companies?

I recall justified privacy complaints against the govt from many years ago — I felt everything there is to know about me can be surmised from my credit cards.

Under 100,000 is lower income? That is a ridiculous stretch to make a “news” story.

I make far less, and I still eat out a fair amount, but not at Chipotle.

$100,000 is slightly more than perhaps $20,000 was nearly 50 years ago. I was paid $18,500 a year as a new Engineer back in 1978. I understand now new engineers if they can find a job are starting at $65,000 a year. That is far less than the inflation adjusted amount that I began working for. Wages in this country are being compressed and more and more money is going to the corner office the Board Room and profits. That is why chipotle is only an expense account lunch stop. It is also why a vast majority of the wealth in this country is concentrated in a minuscule minority of the people.

In still use Ca$h as much as I can, while I still can.

I suspect that all of my financial accounts are compromised regarding privacy.

My gas station bagel and coffee is 4.98. That’s a hundred bucks a month. I’m thinking I have to get up earlier and eat at home.

The problem is prices at those places have skyrocketed, it used to be that fast casual is $10-$12, now it’s $15-$20. Which is a bit much for what they offer.

“Chipotle has a bad record for “cleanliness”.”

They are actually very good cleanliness wise. It is unsafe food temperatures that led to foodborne illness outbreaks that got them into trouble several years ago
