Really Forbes, I knew Chipotle was a ripoff some 20 years ago Forbes.

No joke Chipotle is only for expense account lunches.

“...households earning under $100,000...”

How is it that taking in $100k is poverty?

They all suck but they used to be somewhat cheap. Now it’s all expensive.

You can scarcely get out of a restaurant these days for less than 25 bucks per person, beverage, tax and tip. And that is minimal. By the time you are spending 60 bucks four times a month for a Sunday breakfast, it gets to be an expensive item.

Under 100,000 is lower income? That is a ridiculous stretch to make a “news” story.

I like Chipotle. I get three square meals out of one bowl that costs $10.

The problem is prices at those places have skyrocketed, it used to be that fast casual is $10-$12, now it’s $15-$20. Which is a bit much for what they offer.

We have food at home. I told you to pack a lunch if you expected anything to eat before we got home.

Somehow *lower income* and *under $100,000* does not compute.

I make far more and I don't eat out. But then again, I'm a very good cook.

Learn to cook.

Chipotle is going down the road of Quiznos.

Proud to say I’ve never darkened the door of a Chipotle but I can’t say that about Cava. Good flavor & spice plus some heat and their pita chips are great. As with most places, their best margin is on the drinks so I know I should choose water to keep the cost down. Tough to not choose iced tea (unsweetened), though.

They are overpriced for what they deliver. For not much more, I can get someone to bring me my food.

And the ‘be your own waiter’ restaurants are fishing for 20% tips these days.

I was paying at one cash register, and the pre-loaded tip options were for 20% - 25% - 30% - other. In a restaurant with no waitstaff, only runners.

How are people using welfare at restaurants? That shouldn’t be legal. Basic necessities ONLY, and ONLY for US citizens, and ONLY those truly in need.

If we want Tex-Mex fast casual we go to Moe’s over Chipotle. Never heard of anyone dying of e-coli at Moe’s. And it’s generally decent, though no longer inexpensive.

Given that prices have doubled, tripled, or sometimes even more since the plandemic and bidenflation, is anyone surprised?
