Ball was easily retrievable and playable

The far-left has taken all professional and college sports. They are all rigged now. Even the Super Bowl is going full homo this year.

Seems it was the right call according to the rule book. Might not make sense...but it clearly is the the rule.

I was rooting for the Blue Jays, but I think (unfortunately) the call was correct under the letter of the rule.
The exact wording of the lodged ball rule in Major League Baseball, according to MLB Rule 5.05(a)(7), is:
"A ball is considered lodged if, in the judgment of the umpire, the natural trajectory of the flight of the ball is interrupted long enough to affect further play. A batted ball that sticks in a fence, scoreboard, shrubbery or vines located on the playing field should be considered a lodged ball. Likewise, a ball that goes behind a field tarp or wall padding without leaving the playing field should also be considered to be lodged. The determination of whether a ball is lodged is subject to Replay Review. When a ball is ruled lodged, runners are awarded two bases from the time of pitch".
This rule emphasizes the umpire's judgment on the interruption of the ball's natural flight and includes specifics about locations where the ball may get lodged. The ability of the fielder to retrieve the ball does not affect this decision.

After viewing the play, the Blue Jays got ripped off. That ball was easily playable. I mean, the outfielder got the ball anyway and threw it into play.

The call was right, the player decided he didn’t have time to get the ball to home plate so he went for the unplayable ball call. Nice try, no cigar.

If it was lodged in padding, right call
Smart move because if player touches ball, it’s in play
Did they review via instant replay?

As a Giants fan I have a very, very strong dislike of the Dodgers.
But that was a good call.

The call was quick, correct, and even the announcers knew the rule. There was truly no controversy.

To: Az Joe
It was the most clear lodged ball you might ever see. It hit the crease between the wall and the warning track on the fly and came to a dead stop instantly.
To: Az Joe
The fact that the ball lodged as opposed to naturally hit the wall and rolled back on to the playing field enabled the runners to get an extra base.
Because the player threw his hands up and didn’t play the ball the runners were able to score.
So you go back to what if the ball didn’t lodge? The Umpire makes the decision runners on 2nd and 3rd.
To: Az Joe
It wouldn’t be a good championship game without an officiating controversy.

Regardless of the call last night, my money is on the grounds crew plugging that gap in some way so it can’t happen again.
Whether it’s a row of bricks, or clay, or pool noodles, or Great Stuff foam, it’ll be plugged.
Because if it somehow happens again, heads will roll.

I don’t doubt they’re giving the Dodgers every possible advantage. The announcers worship of Ohtani the other night was annoying.

It was the correct call. Doesn’t matter if it was playable or retrievable. A ball that is wedged in the outfield fence is always a dead ball. Sucks sometimes, but that’s the rule.
MLB definitionThat has been around a long time before yesterday.
To: Az Joe
That wascawwy MLB. Manipulating the flight of a baseball so the Dodgers stand a chance.
