NAZIS ARE BAD: Heritage Foundation Staffers Subtweet Their Boss Over His Defense of Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes
Mediaite ^ | 10/31/2025 | Isaac Schorr

Some Heritage Foundation staffers are speaking up about a controversial video its president, Kevin Roberts, released on Thursday.

After Tucker Carlson released his friendly interview of white nationalist Nick Fuentes, there were calls for Heritage, which has made a show of allying itself with Carlson, to disavow the former Fox News host.

Instead, Roberts released a video defending both Carlson and Fuentes.

“We will always defend truth, we will always defend America, and we will always defend our friends against the slander of bad actors who serve someone else’s agenda. That includes Tucker Carlson, who remains – and as I have said before, always will be – a close friend of the Heritage Foundation. The venomous coalition attacking him are sowing division. Their attempt to cancel him will fail,” declared Roberts. “The American people expect us to be focusing on our political adversaries on the left, not attacking our friends on the right. I disagree with, and even abhor, things that Nick Fuentes says, but canceling him is not the answer either. When we disagree with a person’s thoughts and opinions, we challenge those ideas in debate, and we have seen success in this approach as we continue to dismantle the vile ideas of the left.”

Some Heritage employees are not being shy about expressing their disagreement with Roberts’s sentiments.

“NAZIS ARE BAD,” read the caption on a meme shared by Heritage research fellow Preston Brashers.

— PrestonBrashers (@PrestonBrashers) October 31, 2025

Richard Stern, the director of Heritage’s economic policy institute and federal budget center, retweeted Brashers and added that it was “Evidently, a truth that is never more than one generation away from being forgotten.”

Evidently, a truth that is never more than one generation away from being forgotten🤦‍♂️ https://t.co/fHriqXPJaE

— Richard A. Stern (@RichAStern) October 31, 2025

Brashers’ tweet was also shared by Heritage staffers Jason Bedrick, Jay Greene, and John Peluso.

Bedrick also retweeted a post from The Babylon Bee’s Joel Berry, submitting that “The Pagan Right’s call for ‘unity’ is the call of a murderer demanding his victim stop struggling.”

Another Heritage director, Jay Richards, did not directly subtweet his boss, but did express his disagreement with his argument prior to the release of Roberts’s video.

“Almost seems like it’s a coordinated effort to destroy the conservative coalition. And even if it’s not coordinated, the effect is the same,” mused Richards in response to another anti-Carlson/Fuentes post from Berry.

— Jay W. Richards 🇺🇸 (@DrJayRichards) October 30, 2025

The posts from Heritage staffers were supplemented by those from many others on the political right:

This statement by Kevin Roberts is reprehensible for the following reasons.

First, it is dishonest. Roberts opens by declaring that “Christians can critique the state of Israel without being anti-Semitic” — as if the issue were free speech or foreign policy. It is not. Tucker… https://t.co/n5KgzTonw6

JUST IN: Ted Cruz BLASTS Kevin Roberts’s Tucker Carlson defense:

“Now is a time for choosing. If you sit there with someone who says Adolf Hitler was very cool and that their mission is to defeat ‘global Jewry,’ and you say nothing, then you are a coward, and you are complicit… pic.twitter.com/QsDFbEDona

— Jayne Zirkle (@JayneZirkle) October 31, 2025

Siding with Hitler and Stalin over Churchill is not conservative or consistent, no matter what Tucker claims.

In deciding to side with him, Kevin Roberts has shifted the foundations on which the Heritage Foundation was built.

— Bethany S. Mandel (@bethanyshondark) October 31, 2025

This simple x dot com post from a Heritage Foundation staffer took more courage than anything Kevin Roberts has done as the Heritage Foundation's "leader." Note how many Heritage staffers have reposted it: https://t.co/LXr3MmeMnj

— Jason Hart (@jasonahart) October 31, 2025

The reaction to the outpouring of condemnations for the Roberts video about how there's room for Jew haters on the right will take the form of: "Did you notice how so many of the people who are mad are Jews?" because that's the level of cognitive talent on display in that set.

— Foster (@foster_type) October 30, 2025

Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts didn’t mind when Tucker attacked Christians. Attacking Christianity was fine. Attacking Tucker for boosting a Nazi was not. pic.twitter.com/L3c3ZTtDlJ

I would ask him to explain (particularly the “unintentionally” killed).

To me the Communists were (and are) more dangerous than the Nazis because the Communists had proven their ability to transfer power to a new leader. The Nazi’s weren’t able to demonstrate that ability. I doubt if Germany would have ever followed Himmler but who knows?

Tucker is like the Buck Henry character on SNL, who played a talk show host who said more and more outrageous things to get people to call in.

Nick Fuentes came from nowhere and is now suddenly of the front lines.
Sure does remind me of how the Tea Party was destroyed by names we never heard of.

I have several disagreements with Israeli leadership and the American relationship with Israel. They are kinda small and all, but it’s fine to point them out and make your arguments.

Many people here do, and I generally leave them alone, or argue against when I disagree.

Separately, there are about 6 or so posters here who spend a whopping literal majority of their time bashing Jews and Israel. They essentially have no other topic. Those are the folks I call out. When you don’t even have a secondary topic on your mind other than the evils of Jewry, you’re sick with it.

It would be a boring show if it is just arguing about details. You get the details and move on.

Why not? Because that is not journalism, it’s advocacy. You should not walk away with a clear picture of where a journalist stands on an issue.

He should not be cheering him on, or debating and arguing point by point. That is CNN or MSNBC.

And it also sounds like you think the job of an interviewer is to argue with the interviewee.

It absolutely is the job of an interviewer to challenge the interviewee if the person to whom they are giving a platform is someone who is spouting views with which you disagree. Otherwise, you're just a propaganda outlet.

Hannity is the prime example of this, he gets in more words than the person being interviewed.

The difference -- and you already know this but I'm going to say it anyway -- is that Hannity talks over people with whom he agrees. That's what makes him annoying.

What I think is funny about this is that you'd be going nuts if Bret Baier had on someone like AOC for any extended interview, and never asked her any tough questions or challenged anything she said. You'd be calling him a squish, a RINO, a traitor, and every other perjorative under the sun.

Yeah, and if this hypothetical friend said, “Melania Trump was a streetwalker back in Slovenia,” you’d invite to have a reasoned conversation and to provide sources supporting his assertion while you brought up sources disputing it.

That would be you, not me.

When Fuentes says, “There are basically two things going on: White genocide and Jewish subversion,” I don’t need to research anything.

“Siding with Hitler and Stalin over Churchill is not conservative or consistent, no matter what Tucker claims.”

Such a thing is as bad as Mamdani’s father, a Columbia University “Professor” who claims Hitler got the idea for the Holocaust from Abraham Lincoln.

Well, they think Jesus was a liar or a false prophet. That’s beyond debate. The Talmud says he is boiling in excrement in hell and Christians are spit on over there.
And they did their best to sink the USS Liberty. In the Lebanon War in 1982 they were hostile and threatening to the US Marine peacekeepers.
They bribe half of Congress with AIPAC.
They ran the Epstein spy and bribery ring.
They supported ISIS and installed the ISIS leader in Syria.

It’s hard to see anything but hostility from them for America. At best, it could be said they are parasites and see us as a host. But they certainly aren’t friends.

Bannon calls us Israel Firsters since he went to the same Jesuit churches and is a secular humanist too. The Replacement Theology is a false teaching. All of DC are anti-Christian Fundamentalists.

Perhaps you should look in a mirror as you namecall. Nations who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed.

The Bible says it so we believe it.

Uh, wow. You sure you've actually watched Tucker? Because I watched him absolutely fawn over Douglas MacGregor, saying that everything the rest of the media is telling you "is a lie", and affirmatively stating that MacGregor is the only one telling the truth.

I liked the middle east being something foreign. I don’t like it sopping up all of DC and the streets in our large cities.
I could generally support Israel, but I am at the point of insisting that they show some gratitude and absolutely knock off the spying, blackmail and bribery and the HIAS treachery.
And I don’t want ANY islam in America at all.

I want it like when I was young. We might see some casual news story out of Israel or the Middle east every few months. And whatever it was didn’t involve America.
Now it’s every day and the biggest fight in America these days.

Both sides need to be whipped back into their cages... at least as far as their involvement with America.

Bottom line, I don’t see either side kissing America’s ass. I see both of them exploiting us. I don’t like America to be the sucker. But that appears to be our fate at the moment.

Throwing around that word really has no effect anymore just like calling someone a racist it’s meaningless at this point if everyone’s a racist and everyone’s a Nazis no one’s a racist and no one’s a Nazi
