Japan Sends Air Force to NATO Bases As Threats Emerge on Multiple Fronts
“The deployment of the Japanese air force—its first mission to Europe and Canada—follows the conclusion of a British aircraft carrier’s operations in Northeast Asia.
Moscow, Beijing and Pyongyang, part of an authoritarian bloc known as the “Axis of Upheaval,” strongly oppose NATO’s reach into Asia, accusing the U.S.-led military alliance of inciting a new Cold War that undermines regional security and stability.”

Pacifist Japan unveils biggest military build-up since World War Two
TOKYO, Dec 16 (Reuters) - Japan on Friday unveiled its biggest military build-up since World War Two with a $320 billion plan that will buy missiles capable of striking China and ready it for sustained conflict, as regional tensions and Russia’s Ukraine invasion stoke war fears.
The sweeping, five-year plan, once unthinkable in pacifist Japan, will make the country the world’s third-biggest military spender after the United States and China, based on current budgets.

I love Japan. I’m there now...for 6 weeks. My wife is Japanese. It’s cheap as hell now as the weak yen rate and more importantly they didn’t pay people not to work during covid so they didn’t lose their work ethic.
If the USA goes communist I’m moving to Japan.
Civilization BUMP.
Japan relies on US troops to keep it safe.
Israel uses its own boys (and girls).
What a weird post. Both are allies. What is it with this fad to try to paint Israel as somehow “less than” and not worthy of U.S. interest? It’s being mass marketed and I smell a rat.
Yes, it's good to recognize Japan as a strong and loyal ally, but there's no need to take cheap shots at Israel.
Those two situations are entirely different, Japan is an island country surrounded by allies (S. Korea, Taiwan, USA) as well as potential enemies (China, Russia, N. Korea), while Israel's neighbors have all been aggressively hostile within recent memories.
Japan has 10 times Israel's area, population and GDP.
So, claiming that Japan is a better ally than Israel is meaningless.
Both countries are anchors of long-term American global interests in their regions of the world.
“Japan respects its culture, protects its borders, and actually carries its own weight, unlike most of our so-called allies”
Since Israel is in the title, it should be noted that Israel protects its borders - trying immigrating there as a non-Jew and see how far you get. Israel carries more than its own weight, 8.8%, vs. a crappy 3.5% for the US. Japan is a special case, so I won’t go there.
By the way, any reason it’s an either/or, rather than being allies with both. And don’t get me wrong, I also love Japan!
Japan and Israel are on the front lines against America’s two strategic foes: Chinese Communism and Expansionist Islam.
Japan’s population is 12 times bigger, its GDP is 8 times bigger, its land mass is 18 times bigger. It has an ocean between it and China, and Israel has its opponents on and within its borders. Japan has not fought a war with China in over 75 year, while Israel fights radical islam about every 5 years forever.
So the linking of the two as if to suggest they ought to be similar militarily is misplaced.
Japan is in a demographic tailspin.
Epstein wasn’t a Japanese agent?
Well, Japan isn’t under active attack by its neighbors, as Israel has been every minute of its existence, so there’s that difference.
Japan is our greatest ally. No question.
.
You don't own me
You don't tell me what to do
You don't tell me what to say.....
Nah, it’s the UK and it’s not even close.
It’s not an either or choice.
Dumb article
