Freepers, what's more important to you: immigration reform or education reform?

Obviously both are important and require a massive shift away from the status-quo, but if you had to pick one, which is more critical for the well-being of America?

I'd personally think immigration reform is slightly more important, but understand if that's not as critical to some others.

Education. Not all immigrants coming in illegally are bad, but what is being done to the kids is criminal.

With immigration reform education reform will naturally improve.

How about enforcing immigration laws that are already on the books? Shouldn’t need a lot of reform.

The voting base for Zohran Kwame Mamdani in NYC? The majority of it was born overseas, and immigrated to the US legally. US born New Yorkers overwhelmingly reject him.

Both need changing, but immigration policy must be changed ASAP, because:

1. these foreigners come in to the US beings SOAKED in anti-US Judeo-Christian culture; and

2. When Americans see just how much business owners love foreign labor over them, it gives them a justifiable shove to the left.

My 30 years in the Silicon Valley show to me just what a disaster this is!

Nuke the Department of Education and transfer it’s funding to immigration enforcement.

In the end, it's a mayor. And I feel like their are existing geographical quotas that were not managed or enforced that could be reemphasized and tightened up.

However, when you look at the protests, calls for violences, calls for outright murder, take note of how many of those people are teaching our kids. Teaching our YOUNG kids at that. "Why is it always a teacher" has become a common response to these protests and incitements to violence.

I have a problem with the use of “reformed.”

Immigration doesn’t need to be reformed, it needs to be ENFORCED, RUTHLESSLY.

Education (public) needs to be eradicated. It’s a private affair that every family needs to take responsibility for.

We do not need “immigration” reform as much as we need reform of the limits and processes for some visas. Securing the border did not require “immigration reform”.

And with or without “immigration reform”, we need “reforms” in education which for the most part should be given to the states with the end of the federal department of education and all money funneled through it. The federal department of education has not been much of a benefit to education (worse rankings in K-12 education since fed dep of ed established) but has been a great subsiding gift to a very extravagant industrial education complex at the college level. The great federal gift to the colleges is that it has relieved any pressure on them to cut costs and be economically efficient to the nation. Instead the cost of college tuition since the establishment of the department of education has had inflation rates that surpassed most every other sector of the economy.

Education reform. We don’t need immigration reform. We need immigration enforcement.

Exactly.

What we could use more is a tightening up of our elections, education won’t matter if the left steals power. I think actual legitimate registered democrats are a minority in this country and the only way they retain power is by election fraud, that is how they foisted Obamacare on us by stealing a seat for Al Franken.

The way to remedy this is no early voting, only same day voting, paper ballots, no computerization, no absentee ballots except for for military personnel away from home, no mail in ballots except for military, results known same day. I’d even suggest purple ink on the thumb like Iran does to thwart someone voting multiple times. Anyone found tampering with the process arrested and charged with a felony carrying heavy federal time if found guilty.

If our election process remains corrupt, all of this MAGA is all for naught, and the ship will never be righted.

Immigration reform, if you mean deportation, is the most important as it affects all facets of our society, including Education.

In fact, if you focus on deportation, the costs of education decrease in a mighty manner as a goodly portion of students just vanish to their home countries.

Additionally, the quality or results of the Education system automatically will see a huge increase as we are no longer trying to bring illiterate and way behind children up to a level where they can be taught

enforcement would have been a more appropriate term to use on my part.

having said that, we have numerous 'legal' programs (H-1B, OPT, F1) that allow workers from all over the world to come here and TAKE jobs from qualified American citizens at a lower rate of pay...these need to be terminated as well

so in that sense, there is some degree of reform needed.

we don’t need reform we need enforcement of our laws. Get rid of the illegals.

Illegal means broke the law.

We can multitask. :-)

That is an important bottom line!!!!

Starting tomorrow, a) enforce immigration laws and tighten admission numbers and policies, b) do what is to be done with removing Marxist influence from the education environment via the judicious use of federal funds.

Both.

If you do not educate your youth into your culture you quickly no longer have a country.

If you do not limit the number of people coming into your country to below 1% you also quickly no longer have a country.

If, by “immigration reform”, you are referring to changing the existing laws, then I am DEFINITELY in favor of education reform over immigration reform.

By applying and enforcing the existing immigration laws and regulations, and under the leadership of POTUS, we will make progress at reigning in the abuses.

If nothing is done to reform “education”, we will continue to have tax-payer funded indoctrination processes, likely to become even more progressive, as crazy liberal types begin to feel the pressure of reduced funding and reduced social support.

JMHO
