From the Beginning performed by Greg Lake during 2005 tour. The band includes David Arch on keyboards, Florian Opahle on guitar, Trevor Barry on bass, and Brett Morgan on drums.
Greg Lake of King Krimson and Emerson Lake and Palmer.
One of my Top Ten faves. :)
I think Lake's best vocals ever were on a King Crimson song called Epitaph.

Loved his voice when he was young, but he'd lost all of his higher range by the early 80's. Too many cigarettes.
great song, truly a classic
There’s a great version of this song with Lake chewing gum enthusiastically while singing. Someone changed the lyrics: Chew wanna play some magic on my guitar … chew wanna be the strings on my guitar, etc. Incredible talent.
Most excellent album. The one that introduced me to ELP.
Yup... They don’t make music like that anymore... Now music is made to be used as a commercial jingle at some point in the future.
Thanks for posting!
The background vocals are the magic touch.
Saw ELP in concert during the Brain Salad Surgery Tour. Must have been 74 or 75, I graduated from college in 76. Great concert.
I got into Kansas (the group) music around the same time.

I think that was the last cut on the Trilogy album.
There were three organists who inspired me into organ playing: Jimmy Smith, Keith Chapman, and Keith Emerson. If that isn’t a diverse bunch, I don’t know what is.
great song. Musical creativity often erupts in short, intense bursts that fade mysteriously. As hard as artists try, most enter that creative door and exit just as quickly. It’s evolution’s way of balancing innovation with practicality—brilliant but fleeting, always making way for new talent. Turn this song up and fire up a j
Greg Lake also wrote one of the Christmas songs that I look forward to hearing every Holiday Season, namely: “I Believe in Father Christmas”.
That’s a good one.
I think my favorite vocal of his, though, is “Lend Your Love to Me Tonight”:

I did not hear that song in its entirety until years later; I thought it was quite pretty. When I finally heard all the lyrics, I no longer cared for it.
(Though it is beautifully performed.)
I much prefer "Chris Squire's Swiss Choir" if I want Christmas music from a prog-rocker. A FReeper turned me on to that album a few years back.
How did they go from that to “Love Beach”?
