I don't trust doctors at all. I am over 50 years old and I have only trusted THREE doctors in my entire life- I don't trust them.

Doctors and other healthcare professionals work for:

The government, the insurance companies and their employer

Not the patient!

You want Old School doctor care you’ll need your passport and a R/T plane ticket.

Think about doctors as a business.

The businesses want to keep you coming back for more products and services. So it is with doctors. Their billings are their bread and butter. They do not want customers (patients) coming just once a year and being told they are doing just great.

They want you coming back for more.

So by definition, they do not have a vested interest in CURING you of anything. Nor do they want to PREVENT anything from happening to you. They want to keep you needy and coming back.

So they will only treat illnesses and conditions to give you just enough relief that you subscribe to their medications (which they get "spiffed" on) and keep coming back for "follow-ups".

You are basically a ringing cash register for them.

People, you need to take charge of your own health. Exercise. Eat well. Stay away fron the doctor as much as you can.

"Just think of the money I saved not paying for those medications for 15 years."

As long as it works for you without jeopardizing your health in the long run. I'm still alive at 78, when the last member of my family died over 10 years ago. My only brother was 51 when he died in 1995 of a massive heart attack, because he thought he was smarter than the doctor, and stopped taking his blood pressure medication. He dropped dead in the kitchen of his house, in front of his wife and kids.

I truly believe that one of the reasons I've outlived everyone else in my family is first of all, I never smoked. They all did. Three of them died of lung cancer. I also believe I've lived longer because I've had regular checkups and bloodwork, taken the meds prescribed for me as directed over the years, and because I had the benefit of the healthcare advances that have occurred during my lifetime. I've also benefited from being retired for the past 22 years, and don't have to deal with the stress of a job anymore.

I don’t trust plumbers, roofers, bankers or lawyers either. Why people assume a doctor’s motives would be altruistic is beyond me. They are out to make a living like anyone else.

Nobody makes money by telling customers they don’t need their services. Doctors are no different.

Now, it’s true that fifty years ago there existed town doctors who would not overprescribe just to make money. They faced little or no competition, were connected to their communities, and were kept busy and well paid by treating only what was necessary.

Perhaps that is where we got this crazy idea that doctors are altruistic, and not profit motivated like everyone else. But those days are long gone.

Normally I wouldn’t, but I know my Doctor is a Conservative, so I do trust her.

Oh yes they do! They WORK FOR DOCTORS and Doctors delegate to staff.

Yes, delegate what? Administer injections, take blood pressure, bandage wounds, etc. All at the direction of the doctor they work for.

So how many of them are qualified to make the decisions that their doctors must make and what qualifies them to criticize their decisions?

The doctor does the same thing and you say, “Thank you sir, may I have another?”

So what's YOUR solution when you start having chest pains? Who you gonna run to?

I have always told people to consider surgeons like the mechanics who fix your car. Not great communications. That’s why there is a service desk....pcp

I always figured the big problem with Gardasil was the clips I’d see of moms gushing about how now their daughters didn’t have to worry about cervical cancer, as if it was the silver bullet to prevent it 100%.

For one thing, there’s more causes of cervical cancer than just the virus. The other is the mental state of thinking that now that they have the shot, they don’t need PAP tests and so lots of women will be foregoing those which is THE. BEST. WAY. to catch cervical cancer early while it’s treatable.

So I’d expect to ultimately see a RISE in cervical cancer among the vaxxed because they aren’t practicing preventative medicine.

I have a very good idea about you. I held a mirror in front of your face and you didn’t like what you saw.

I don’t blame you!

The last laugh was on him I guess

I think the last laugh is on you. Not trusting doctors is not the same as not going to the doctor. You logic engine needs an overhaul.

It’s cheaper, easier, and more effective, but doesn’t pay out as well to doctors and big pharma.

Hmmm...
Ten years ago, I trusted my urologist...
He said he wanted to do a procedure to increase flow...

Then, in an operating room, I got really suspicious when they administered all kinds of knock-out stuff...
Then they rammed a laser through my penis and cut a new trench through my prostate...

Flat rocks? Cows have nothing on me...

Find one you can trust and will listen to you. They are out there. They are not all terrible but I do admit, the groupthink by doctors/scientists is out of control.

To a degree they really cant. Admittedly Im in something of a complicated situation with different health organizations involved simultaneously.

That really doesnt explain the bizarre fictions that occur in my charting. One day I went to the doctor and when the physician comes in they start talking about how Im waking up in pain and covered in deep bruises. “Where the hell are you getting that? I never claimed any such thing. Thats not what Im here for.” This doctor seems a bit surprised at first and Im thinking that they realized it was the wrong patient or something. I start to talk about why I was there. Didnt they circle around to implying that I was covering for some kind of abuse because of something that some nurse put in the record? There was no bruising at the time. I have no history of bruising. Despite all the fighting and contact sports and car accidents and falling out of trees, I have hardly ever had even minor bruises. There were a lot of other things, just not bruises so what were they carrying on about?

I had another one go off during an appointment not too long ago about how Im not “compliant with my meds”. I never took those meds historically, didnt even have a prescription for those meds, and they didnt give me that prescription nor a similar one when I left. Again, just random ranting. I have no idea wtf they were talking about.

Another situation. My primary said, “If that happens again go to the emergency room.” Well, the thing happened again and I went in. It didnt seem to be an emergency, I assumed my physician needes some readings from equipment not available at the clinic or something that could only be captured when it was happening. I had no reason to discuss anything at the hospital really, “Im only here for [this thing] because my doctor wanted me to.”

Two days later I get a call from the clinic (Bellin-avoid them), “[Primary] needs you to come in to the clinic.” “Why? Im fine.” “Its protocol after an ER visit.” Fine, I go in even though I dont know why other than “protocol”. They tell me primary isnt there and put me in a room. Another physician comes in ranting angrily demanding to know why Im there. “I dont know...” without me finishing she starts ranting about how Im there to “get things off my chest” and starts telling me about all kinds statements I supposedly made to someone (which I never did). Angrily ranting 50 miles a minute until I picked up my phone and her demeanor entirely changed, she must have thought I was recording. Now in a sort of stilted speech she makes a couple of irrelevant comments and walks out. To this day I have no idea what that was all about.

What the hell is in my charting?
