Leonardo DiCaprio's One Battle After Another has sparked backlash from conservative audiences despite being the most critically acclaimed film of the year.
The sprawling 162-minute thriller, directed by 11-time Oscar nominee Paul Thomas Anderson, has wowed mainstream critics and won praise from the likes of Steven Spielberg and Taylor Swift.
But despite the film's many accolades, One Battle After Another has struggled to recoup its rumored $175 million budget at the box office so far.
The movie's progressive plot has also been blasted as 'woke' by conservative viewers, who accuse it of being 'pro-Antifa' for having a group of left-wing radical terrorists as the protagonists.
One Battle After Another is a politically charged action-thriller based loosely on Thomas Pynchon's 1990 novel Vineland.
The film sees DiCaprio playing Bob Ferguson, a former member of a far-left revolutionary group who now lives in a state of stoned paranoia off the grid with his daughter Willa, played by Chase Infiniti.
When Willa goes missing, Ferguson must reunite with his former comrades, which includes his estranged girlfriend Perfidia, played by Teyana Taylor, to take on an evil cabal of white supremacists.

Just because people don’t want to see a movie, doesn’t mean there is a backlash. I for one am not interested in seeing it. That’s okay though, other people can watch it.
I know. Never met one.
More like a bomb than a block buster.
Opened: 26 September 2025 (USA)
Wiki says ONLY showing in the USA.
Box Office: $112 million
Break Even: $350 million
Just $238 million to go!
Can’t be a backlash since the very thought of seeing this would never cross my mind. Something praising Antifa is like oh I don’t know a bio of Obama or Brandon. Just would never enter my radar.

I saw the “trailer” on the tube. Decided right then that this movie was garbage.
Conservatives are not stopping liberals from going to the movie.
Get a clue guys.
Your movie rots.
Has Tater fallen in love with DiCaprio yet?
Not our usual fare but it was the only one playing that looked even close to acceptable.
Called "Good Dog" it is sort of a horror, (what did I expect in October) but not really. It is sad but in a good way.
Surprisingly good.
"Chase Infinity? Sounds like an Arkansas State Police video."
Same here, I'm 75 and live in rural area with cowboys, wranglers, packers, ranchers, etc and have never met a 'white supremacist."
Same here, especially Jacob Byrd. Dude is a monster.
Because he’s the spawn of Satan?
Remember Broke Back Mountain? As much as it sucked (and I watched the first 15 minutes and turned it off) Hollyweird declared it the best movie of the year. Hollywood needs to become irrelevant.
A movie about mythical, inbred, backwoods, white supremacists.
Hard pass.
The fact that hardcore Leftist film critics love it tells you all you need to know.
