Mark Sanchez has been arrested in the hospital after allegedly being stabbed in the chest, Indianapolis police have announced.
Sanchez, 38, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries on Saturday morning after allegedly being stabbed during a dispute with a food delivery driver around 12:30 am.
However, it was later alleged that the delivery driver acted in self-defense, and Indianapolis police have now arrested Sanchez for battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication.
Cops have said that Sanchez is still in the hospital and has not yet been booked into jail.
The former Jets quarterback was in Indianapolis to call Sunday's NFL game between the Colts and Raiders.
Police initially said that one of the men in the incident - now known to be Sanchez - was left with injuries 'consistent with' stab wounds, while the other man was allegedly hospitalized as well with significant injuries
Citing a police report, reported that the alleged victim informed cops that he was delivering food when the Fox Sports commentator told him he needed to move his vehicle and couldn't park where he was.
Sanchez is accused of threatening, following and attacking the man, who tried to pepper spray him unsuccessfully. He alleges it was at that time that he defended himself with a knife.
Officers noted that the alleged victim had a significant injury to his face, Ganote added.
The incident is said to have happened near Loughmiller’s Pub & Eatery.
TMZ's Michael J. Babcock reported that Sanchez had no recollection of what happened during the incident, according to someone who spoke with the ex-passer this morning.
Babcock added that Sanchez was 'very out of it' due to being sedated.

Sounds like Sanchez was being dirty
The Jets have quite a few QBs recently that went from hype to bust.
They benched Tebow for this loser.
LOL! I C what U did there.
Drunk and dirty.
Drunks, hot-heads and drama queens: People we can use fewer of.
I’m with the delivery driver. Rich guy picking on a midnight shift worker trying to make a living. Sanchez will never experience that even if his parents did.
Question: Who owned the knife?
Sounds like a thug ath-e-lete.
Ah yes. His game will be covered in California and most of Nevada/Idaho. Don’t forget Indiana. What will the network(FOX) do? Will they cover a different game? By rule they’ll have to broadcast the game in Indiana-Vegas too. Tough call. How will they explain it other than to say ‘our thoughts’ and ‘our prayers’. As more info comes out Fox is going to have to come to terms with Sanchez being the bad guy. The NFL has a lotta money. So does Sanchez but you can’t fix stupid.
“Babcock added that Sanchez was ‘very out of it’ due to being sedated.”
Translation: he was drunk on his ass.
Either he's lying or he was so blasted he truly doesn't remember. Which would also mean there was no way he should have been getting in his car to drive.
I would assume the hospital took blood as a matter of course so they know his BAC.
Regardless ... so long announcing gig.
😎😎
Sadly Indy has become one big filthy toilet that needs flushing bad. Murders, rapes, robberies, drugs you name it it is like a really bad Hollywood movie where the crime syndicate comes in and destroys all the good.
Plus it has become the Midwest nexus for militant transgenders. Even the gays are calling it “Trannytown” now. So sad.
Sanchez was really good at sucking for the Jets.
I knew Sanchez sucked I just didn’t know he was into butt stuff
I'm assuming the same. Before the hospital can administer drugs they need to know what's in his system. They're going to know that he consumed alcohol just by the overall odor of it when he comes in. But they still need to draw blood to be certain.

“My understanding is that most of this or all of it was caught on video. Rarely is video released to the public or the media this early, so I would not expect it.
I’ve also been told by two sources that the victim is 69-years-old.”
