Amazon Censors James Bond Posters, Removes Guns From 007’s Hands

Amazon is catching backlash again from 007 fans—this time for quietly editing classic James Bond movie posters on Prime Video and removing Bond’s guns.

Posters Sanitized

As shared by the SpyHards account on X, updated poster artwork for nearly every Bond film now omits Bond holding a gun.

This includes posters for classics like Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, and Skyfall, among others. The guns have simply been Photoshopped out (or through the use of AI).

“Welcome to a world where promoting James Bond 007 needs to be done without his sidearm,” one fan wrote in response.

Back when South Park was funny, they did an episode where ‘classic’ movies were being re-edited to remove guns and replace them with walkie-talkies. Fast forward two decades...

What the hell flew up Amazon’s skirt?

Amazon bought MGM, and the rights to James Bond. They now stream all the Bond movies on their streaming service, Prime Video.

If you go to Prime Video, and search for the Bond movies, the thumbnails have either been cropped so the gun is not visible, or the gun has been erased.

Anyway, don’t look at the products on amazon, go to the video streaming section.

You’re right. It’s a different deal if you’re looking up DVDs on Amazon. They’ve kept the original cover on DVDs.

They ended for me once Sean Connery stopped being in them.

Never watched anything after, just seemed wrong.

I consider James Bond canon as the movies that were produced by MGM.

Now that Amazon bought MGM, that is the end of James Bond.

Amazon will make new movies featuring 007 but we know that is not James Bond.

I think they’ve wrapped up the end perfectly in the last movie “No Time to Die”.

I agree with you. Now that Cubby Brocilli and family are gone, the Bond we once knew is dead.

With billionaires like Musk and Bezos building their own space forces, they are looking more like Bond villians all the time. That whole “license to kill” thing has them rattled.

I've seen a lot of videos lately where guns of any kind are pixeled, even in videos talking about that specific gun.

I think it's a YouTube thing.

Even in the latest "The Naked Gun", with Liam Neeson, the guns are pixeled.

I don’t think the original post was accurate. My Amazon searches include the gun (see above).

From a "Jody Call" common during training runs in the armed services:

"This is my rifle, this is my gun. This one's for fighting, this one's for fun."

Don't make me send Elon to DOGE you.

I bought a DVD of Blazing Saddles as a hedge against it becoming unavailable due to Leftist idiocy.

Maybe the new James Bond should have a pink gun to go with her pink electric Jaguar?

Another reason to pass on that movie.

I thought about seeing it a couple of times.

This wasn’t one of those errors made on the side of caution, it’s toxic fragility.

I also pass on that movie. I think it would ruin the funny memory of the originals.

Hollywood has little creativity anymore. They take good things from the past and ruin them with their wokey crap and leftist spin.

I’m surprised they haven’t replaced the guns with pics of Play-Doh cans.

They’ve been moving away from poster to production stills. Largely for ratio. Posters are tall and skinny but Amazon’s lists are short and wide, like widescreen TVs. And yeah the production still for the Bond movies lack guns, but honestly that’s more about how little he actually holds a gun. The gun is still in the logo, this is, like so many things, some idiots addicted to getting their panties in a twist twistist the truth to anger themselves.
