🚨 “German Cargo 619, stop!” LAX ATC shouted as an AeroLogic 777 crossed runway 25R, 1.3 miles down the runway from an American Airlines flight to Boston. The jet slammed on the brakes at 167 mph — all captured live on the 24/7 Airline Videos cameras.

A high speed abort requires more than a fresh set of boxers. A brake cooldown chart must be used. Depending on the aircraft and abort speed, it could be as long as an hour. It may also require a tire and brake inspection.

So did American get takeoff clearance too soon or did German Cargo move to slow across the runway ?
Scary.
....and a case of Lysol..................
Dunno.
Yeah, read that. Tnx
That’s no Tenerife, but a good runner-up anyway.
Was landing at Honolulu and some 747 ahead was slow to clear the runway.
Should have heard the tower sceaming at him. Our pilot just hit the power and went around.
I watched it three times and I’m not seeing the close call, just two planes going down a runway.
Yes, very short on details. I have to assume the German plan was not crossing the runway at 167 MPH, so that was the American plane aborting takeoff ... maybe. The video is useless.
hard to tell what was going on from the video.
The DHL flight had to abort?
Do not see the runway incrusion happening
The tower saw something wrong and stopped it. The article is useless as it explains nothing.
