Hegseth to Military Brass: Reform or Resign
PJ Medial ^ | 11:03 AM on September 30, 2025 | Catherine Salgado

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth offered the top military leaders of our nation a choice: Accept the anti-DEI, pro-America reforms or resign from the Armed Forces.

At a historic meeting bringing together hundreds of military officers and officials, Hegseth minced no words, making it clear that there will be no more woke propaganda and rigged standards, but everyone in the U.S. military, from the generals and admirals on down and regardless of sex, will have to meet rigorous standards. “So whether you're an Airborne Ranger or a chairborne Ranger, a brand new private or a four-star general, you need to meet the height and weight standards and pass your PT test,” Hegseth laid out.

While expressing his gratitude for the service that is such a “sacrifice to yourselves and to your families,” Hegseth warned, “If the words I'm speaking today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign.”

The Secretary of War is optimistic (perhaps overly optimistic) about convincing even the many wokified top brass to accept reforms, however. “I suspect — I know the overwhelming majority of you feel the opposite; these words make your hearts full,” Hegseth said. “You love the War Department because you love what you do, the profession of arms. You are hereby liberated to be an apolitical, hard-charging, no-nonsense, constitutional leader that you joined the military to be. We need you locked in on the M, not the D, the E, or the I, not the DEI or the D, I, E of ‘dime’.” M, of course, is for military.

Hegseth warned the military leaders, “No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship, no more division, distraction, or gender...”

The ones at DC desk jobs should be most suspect.

We’ve already seen the vast majority of Fed.gov GS-15 and higher is on team Davos, NOT on team USA.

How much does that also apply to the military?

Is there an age adjust standard for older officers?

Looking at the thick bodies in reserve units, they could trim off a few thousand lbs per unit easy.

There should be another element to the ask: if you don’t resign now, and we later discover that you should have resigned, due to your support for woke policies, you will be fired and also sanctioned in the following ways: _____ e.g. demotion, dishonorable discharge, loss of pension, etc.

Expectations have been made clear. Those who think they can carry on as they have will now be held to account.

That GI that defected to the Norks not so long ago should have been offered the chance to complete his enlistment in Liberia on a private’s pay. If he got into trouble there he could end up eating fish heads in jail.

My bro in law retired Master Guns. As a Staff Sergeant he ran marathons. He ran the noon fat farm for Marines who did not pass the physical standards. You’re overweight; go report to Sgt. R.

I’ve sat through a lot of “all hands on deck” meetings like this. Boss struts around feeling important, people turn to each other and ask “are you going to do anything he’s saying?” and laugh and go back to what they were doing.

I’m waiting for the inevitable comment about him saying the word ‘sh*t’.

Few to none. They don't understand honor, so they will be the 'loyal dissenters'...

Yeah, civilians think that. There’s something called the chain of command and the UCMJ that typically put a stop to people thinking they can outlast the commander.

The speech was great. The difference to the prior Secretary is as Night compared to Day. We are now in the light! I would sign up again but, at 85, I am sure I’m over the age limit.
You all can count on Secretary Hegseth to continue his plan to square up the Military and change the direction in which our Forces were heading.

Only if the democrats gain total control it’s their main goal.

Until then it’s only a movie

Hegseth is quite aware of what you are talking about, so you should give him a "standing O" for what he is about. Do you agree?

Grandfather used to carry the flag in parades until, as his obituary described:

“He was a soldier, too, in two wars because he liked it. He served in the Spanish American War and in World War I and was thoroughly disgusted when, at the age of 78, he was unable to enlist in the armed services in 1942.”

Seems that a lot of retired soldiers carry expertise that could be well used to free up younger soldiers during stressful times.
