Hegseth to Military Brass: Reform or Resign
PJ Medial ^ | 11:03 AM on September 30, 2025 | Catherine Salgado

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth offered the top military leaders of our nation a choice: Accept the anti-DEI, pro-America reforms or resign from the Armed Forces.

At a historic meeting bringing together hundreds of military officers and officials, Hegseth minced no words, making it clear that there will be no more woke propaganda and rigged standards, but everyone in the U.S. military, from the generals and admirals on down and regardless of sex, will have to meet rigorous standards. “So whether you're an Airborne Ranger or a chairborne Ranger, a brand new private or a four-star general, you need to meet the height and weight standards and pass your PT test,” Hegseth laid out.

While expressing his gratitude for the service that is such a “sacrifice to yourselves and to your families,” Hegseth warned, “If the words I'm speaking today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign.”

The Secretary of War is optimistic (perhaps overly optimistic) about convincing even the many wokified top brass to accept reforms, however. “I suspect — I know the overwhelming majority of you feel the opposite; these words make your hearts full,” Hegseth said. “You love the War Department because you love what you do, the profession of arms. You are hereby liberated to be an apolitical, hard-charging, no-nonsense, constitutional leader that you joined the military to be. We need you locked in on the M, not the D, the E, or the I, not the DEI or the D, I, E of ‘dime’.” M, of course, is for military.

Hegseth warned the military leaders, “No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship, no more division, distraction, or gender...”

I watched his speech this morning and as a vet, I couldn’t be more proud of the guy. It almost made me want to reenlist. Trump overdid himself when he appointed Pete as the Secretary of War....

I worked at the Pentagon for almost 10 years before I retired and about 99 percent of the military males were in good physical shape. It was the military females that seemed to be out of shape and fat.

“””I’ve sat through a lot of “all hands on deck” meetings like this.”””

I doubt you had a meeting like this.

This is MANHOOD!!!!!!

What a refreshing change!

Hold their feet to the fire, sir! Don't relent!

And God, please protect that man!

Seems that a lot of retired soldiers carry expertise that could be well used to free up younger soldiers during stressful times.

BINGO!!! Precisely.

Local commanders of State National Guard, military reserves, and sheriff's departments ought to carry rosters of qualified senior volunteers with usable MOSs in case of national emergencies (of the type our global adversaries nay have in mind for us).

Age waiver at the commander's discretion and could include periodic continuing education/orientation. Associated costs could be used to reduce any taxes owed on additional income.

How diid Pete do that delivery? Could it have been all extemporaneous without teleprompting? I have done a lot of standup teaching in my day where the lesson plan has been delivered so many times that I had it down pat, but this was a first time through delivery and very impressive. Plus, the material was music to my ears, hard hitting and a renunciation of the past corrosive woke agenda. Any officer who wasn’t inspired by Pete’s talk doesn’t deserve continued service.

Is there an age adjust standard for older officers?

I believe so. The standards for passing the Physical standards Test were reduced with age (but not rank).

Two mile run, age 41-46 male, the standad is: Max score - under 14:05 minutes.
Minimum score: Under 22:04 minutes

Two mile run, age 17-21 male: Max score is 13:22. Min score is 19:57

The standards are different for females.

I’ve sat through a lot of “all hands on deck” meetings like this. Boss struts around feeling important, people turn to each other and ask “are you going to do anything he’s saying?” and laugh and go back to what they were doing.

Same. But by making it so public, and in person for key parties, NO ONE will be able to say "I didn't know . . ."

By the way, after those "all hands on decks meetings", if the layoffs were going to come, they still came.

Weight for height (Height/weight), body fat %, and physical fitness scoring standards are age- and (currently) sex-adjusted.

The neocons have always tried to portray Trump as anti-military.

I’ve always aligned with Trump on the military and foreign policy.

Trump is NOT anti-military but he is be anti-pentagon which is to say he is against the military bureaucracy which has become so BLOATED that generals have become NOTHING more than middle manager bureaucrats who have lost all touch with a military which is disciplined and PURPOSED to achieve military objectives not decade long military misadventures in far off lands which serve no purpose but to enrich the war profiteers in the military industrial complex.

The GENIUS of Trump is that he is a brander.

And changing the brand back to War Department and Secretary of War sends a message that he is determined to REPURPOSE the military back to its original purpose.

What Trump has DONE and continues TO DO after little more than six months in office is INCREDIBLE.

And all he has done has been with SO LITTLE support of the namby pamby professional hacks in the Republican wing of the unipary and are elected officeholders in the swamp known as the legislative branch.

You have never sat through a meeting like this, have you watched Hegseth releasing his orders to them, if not, you should?

Quite right. That group of officers certainly began to grow with Obama's first day in office 16 years ago. Not only did it grow with selections, but also with WH phone calls to the administrations of the service academies.

I know marines who are combat vets who despise Trump. They do not get that they are not being paid to have an opinion, that they are under the UCMJ to keep their political opinions to themselves. No clue that the electorate who pays them has elected Trump

These people worship Mattis

Someone tell Pete Hegseth that that little public insubordination from Mattis about eight years ago continues to undermine chain of command and laws and orders

Fix that.
