I know Curtis would be best for NYC, but NEEDS to read the writing on the wall.

He has little to no chance and his active candidacy at this point only ensures a Mamdani victory.

Maybe cut a deal with Cuomo...drop out and support him in exchange for a place in his administration.

I get this is far from ideal, but realism supersedes optimism in elections such as this one.

Since a non-Democrat mayor is inconceivable in NYC at the moment, I have to hope Sliwa makes a deal with Cuomo about a few things, like crime control, and throws his weight behind him.

Yes, New York City uses ranked-choice voting (RCV) for its municipal primary and special elections. This includes races for mayor, comptroller, public advocate, borough president, and City Council. But General elections for these offices, however, still use the traditional “most votes wins” system.

I’m starting to notice something interesting listening to the news here in the NYC area.

Mamdani is referred to as the “Democrat Socialist” candidate, not the Democrat Party nominee.

Cuomo is referred to as “former Gov.,” not disgraced former gov. or loser of the Democrat primary.

Sliwa barely gets mentioned.

That the machine wants Cuomo tells me all I need to know.
