Shot “themselves,” hmm.
What were its pronouns?
“where THEY died”
Uses weird pronouns so most likely another you-know-what.
And *they* died at a hospital.
Sheesh. I’m so sick of this.
Dan Rascon, you suck and your mother dresses you gay.
Multiple times in this article, the writer intentionally avoided telling us if the student was a boy or a girl.
The article could indicate the sex of the student, without identifying him or her, and without using “they” in reference to an individual student.
The problem is what the schools are teaching kids these days and what they’re NOT teaching them.
Every time I see something like this, it just takes my breath away. This is the gift of psychology, as a profession, which makes its money on the dysfunctions produced by their own academic pretensions.
With disgusting exceptions, it has never been very profitable to be a priest or rabbi. Maybe that’s the difference. It’s certainly one of them.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Will they be charged with a hate crime?
What the hell is going on in Utah!?
“shot themselves”
?
Sad.
The movie ‘Ken Park’ opened with a scene like that.
Daniel Rascon must have slept through the English class where they discussed singular and plural pronouns.
What a shame for all involved.
Jeremy, was that you?
Not just that. "The ninth grader" is singular. "shot themselves" is plural. Oh how I miss the days when English was the language spoken in this country.
More frightening and depressing still is that so many people don't regard the bastardization of what used to be the language of the United States as any big deal.
Tragic.
at first i thought it was a mistake- bad engrish, but then thought that the writer was being cheeky and indicating the student had more than 1 pronoun- hope that’s not the case though- don’t wanna see that stupid trend in writing
First thought...sadness. Second thought...what meds was the family doc giving the kid?
