A Michigan junior varsity high school football player is out for the season after a horrific moment took place this week, with a rival fracturing the spine of an opponent in a senseless attack.

The shocking video occurred during the third quarter of a game between Lakeshore and Kalamazoo Central, when a 15-year-old defender for the Lancers got tangled with an opponent.

After the play went away from the individual matchup between the two, with the 15-year-old prone on the ground, the offensive lineman from Kalamazoo Central leaves his feet and lands with his full body weight on his rival.

...but public school is ‘free’, which is what REALLY counts. Right? (and you know who you are)

Yes it’s them again. Hope the white boy recovers and can play again instead of being a life altering event.

Fortunately the kid was wearing a helmet and just got a fractured spine or else the perp would have fallen back on his ghetto tradition and stomped his head.

I detest the Daily Mail for a variety of reasons (even if the only way we find about certain news items in the USA is if they publish it) but the thing I dislike the most is if they have video footage, they often make it so hard to find that it is nearly unwatchable, and if you do find it, you get so many commercials that you give up.

Or they show you some video from some other story. I don’t know if it is incompetence or deliberate obfuscation on their part.

How about a felony arrest for aggravated assault and battery?

One would think that that play would have cost the Giants 15 yards for a dead-ball unsportsmanlike conduct foul, but the article didn’t say anything about that. In any case, it’s good to know that he’s expected to recover, since spinal injuries can be catastrophic.

Just zoo. The unfortunate white kid wandered into the ghettopotamus enclosure and was attacked by a male of the species.

Interesting, i thought the kid jumped on him feet first which would put a lot of pressure in a single spot. But he flopped on him - definitely intentional, definitely with intent to cause pain and punish - but I'm surprised that such a flop could break a spine in two spots.

I'm wondering if there is some other issue the victim has going on. Like when Michael Irvin of the Cowboy got a neck injury and they found out he had a serious congenital spine condition that made serious neck injuries much more likely and forced him to retire pretty much on the spot.

Agreed.

BUT ... you'll be gladdened to know that in particularly political news stories the comments skew conservative. The anti-woke sentiment is very strong.

“but I’m surprised that such a flop could break a spine in two spots.”

I think it was because his body was not absolutely flat on the ground - as they do in pro-wrestling.
