Ireland’s first Taco Bell restaurant opens in Co Meath today

The country’s first Taco Bell restaurant will open today as part of a €15m investment by Applegreen in a new motorway service station off Junction 6 on the M3 in Dunshaughlin, County Meath.

Known for its Mexican-inspired food, Taco Bell has over 8,700 restaurants across the world. The chain primarily sells fast food such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas and nachos.

Sometime in the mid 1980s I ordered tacos in Germany - it was a paprika based product that had no resemblance to anything out of Mexico or central America.

Around here, all the staff at the Taco Bell speak Spanish among themselves.

Of course all the staff at the Burger King are speaking Spanish, as well.

Ireland has a corporate tax rate of 12.5 percent for most businesses but won’t exceed 15 percent as it conforms to new international rules about corporate tax rates.
