GOOGLE AI:
There isn’t a specific “Kosher Hot Dog Day”; rather, National Hot Dog Day is the third Wednesday of July each year, and many people choose to enjoy kosher hot dogs, like Hebrew National, on this occasion. To be truly kosher, hot dogs must be made from beef or poultry slaughtered according to Jewish law and must not contain pork.
What is National Hot Dog Day?
This annual holiday falls on the third Wednesday of July each year.
July is also known as National Hot Dog Month.
What makes a hot dog “kosher”?
No Pork: Kosher hot dogs are made from beef or poultry, not pork.
Special Slaughtering: The animals must be slaughtered according to specific Jewish laws.
Rabbinic Supervision: A kosher certification agency must oversee the entire process, from the slaughter of the animal to the final product.
Why the confusion with “kosher style” hot dogs?
The term “kosher style” was coined by Nathan’s Famous, whose hot dogs were not actually kosher but did not contain pork, leading to the association.
For some Orthodox Jews who adhere to stricter Kashrut (Jewish dietary laws), brands like Hebrew National may not meet their standards for rabbinic supervision, despite being certified as kosher by an agency like Triangle K.

All the Wienerschnizel shops I’ve been to the last five decades just served hotdogs, chili dogs and corndogs.

When I was a preteen my dad got stationed in Italy. My parents knew a couple, he was German and had married an Italian.
His full blooded German mother lived with them and I had the opportunity to have her schnitzel and mashed potatoes several times.....to this day I can still taste it......it was like crack. 😏

Yay!
I’ll want a side of Spaetzel with either my Hot Dog or my Wiener Schnitzel, though. I’m multi-cultural when it comes to food. ;)

FTA---Sometimes, restaurants offer Wiener Schnitzel as a sandwich. Layed with lettuce or cucumber slaw and a sauce on a pretzel bun, the sandwich makes for a satisfying meal. Add a side of spaetzle for the full complement of flavors.
