The decapitated corpse of a mining company boss has been found in the latest episode of a grizzly string of mysterious deaths among senior Russian executives since the war in Ukraine started.
The body of Alexey Sinistyn, CEO of potassium and magnesium mining firm K-Potash Service, was found near Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave on Monday, Russian media reported.
The deceased was “found without a head,” state-run news agency RIA Novosti cited law enforcement officials as saying, adding that the body was found under a bridge with a tow rope attached to it.

Oh, but Putin’s Russia has no corruption!!! That’s only a “Ukrainian” thing. /sarc
How about “they both suck”.
As many of us have been pointing out for years now.
As do most of the other sides. Because there are considerably more than two sides involved in this mess.
The kind of corruption in Russia and to some extent in Ukraine is found across parts of the old Soviet Union and particularly those parts that were part of the preceding Russian Empire prior to the 1917 Bolshevik Putsch.
Unlike other parts of the Soviet Union and the Eastern European Warsaw Pact nations liberated from the dying Soviet Union, Russia, Ukraine and others had little prior good history with normal capitalism and they had little private property rights, or working private industrial base with which to build or rebuild capitalism and modern markets for it. Instead, the FSB & KGB, the mobsters, the party big wigs, the well placed apparatchiks got “shares” or control of industry and banking with little official opposition. The process was found in Russia, Ukraine and others, as in the “Stans” of Central Asia.
Poland and the other Warsaw Pact nations fared much better as they rebooted rule-of-law culture in the economic sphere from before the days of the Soviet Empire.
That sounds like an accurate explanation to me.
