Beginning Sept. 1, the European Union has banned an ingredient commonly found in gel nail polish.
The banned substance, TPO (trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide), gives nails a super glossy sheen and a quick dry time under UV or LED light. However, it has been deemed toxic in the EU after several studies have shown that it can cause fertility issues and adversely affect reproductive health.
Gel nail polish, which has gained popularity since the 2000s, is cured under UV or LED light, resulting in a hard, durable manicure.

SIL and I were hanging out at The Mall one time and they were selling a kit that cleaned and buffed your mails and it worked really well if you just want a natural look.
You can find something similar at Wal-Mert. It’s a four-sided sponge buffer that really makes your nails look nice once you DRAG YOURSELF out of the Garden and wash your hands, LOL!
Just clear...and CRUNCHY, LOL!
I was in college at the time. I think that ONE Taco might have cost me my entire food budget for the month, LOL!

Of course, someone’s filthy nail is fairly gross as well! I never feel like the nails are really clean underneath. Even my own if they get too long!
