Sanctions don’t work...never did...never will. If one company falls...another emerges.

What I understand is that the new tariffs America put on China are at 10%.
While America’s new tariffs on EU are 15%...
Thus, putting real pressure on China would require that they are tariffed more than Europe. So we shall see...
Trump talked about +50% on China, but all that has been postponed indefinitely it seems.
We must also say no to the 600.000 Chinese spy-students ready to invade America.

PDJT tried to warn them against buying oil from Russia in his first term, but the German delegation at the UN sneered and snickered.

They’re not. They are buying India’s oil. You know, from all those famous hindu sweet light crude wells...

This article does not name the WH official. The headline says “said to have asked”.

I will wait until Trump actually says it and we know he isn’t shy about expressing his opinions.

There has been an abundance of lying and obfuscation going on lately.

I wish Trump had stuck to reciprocal tariffs. That’s a much easier position to defend than using tariffs as a cudgel.

London/EU: “We want to fight Russia, but don’t make us cut-off Russian oil we buy from 3rd parties to evade our own sanctions. That will hurt our economies! Can’t we just get the USA to fight Russia for us? Waahhh!”

About damn time. Europe sends more money to Russia than to Ukraine, through buying Russian oil.

Trump is going to curb stomp Russia’s economy and I suspect provide better quality military support and planning to boot. If there is any lesson to be learned in life is do not cross this man.

why does Trump care if Europe buys oil from Russia?

why is Trump being mean to Europe and Russia?

why is Trump being mean to India too?

I don’t understand…can we do America first without being mean?

will a BRICS currency be developed as a result of this meanness?

sometimes Trump is a step or two ahead of me…can someone explain these steps so i know what is going on

We are witnessing the dying Colonial World Order. The leadership of the west do not understand the emerging global economy.

Trump’s Trade War cannot save the Western ownership of International Trade. We can no longer sell our treasury bills. Our debt to GDP is more than we are bringing in - every single nation in the west is at more debt than GDP (Germany was 70% but sinking too with an economy).

Trump is so focused on destroying Brics, but the Brics countries have both passed the G7, 50% plus of the world population, and western countries no longer dominate.

England and France are no longer Great Powers... But the US, Russia, China, and to lesser 30 year gap India with 1.5B people will be considered the fourth as Brazil replaces India as up and coming.

Trump is destroying relations with the rest of the world - short of a war. Trump can FAFO and if he thinks we can win a war today without damage he is inherently wrong.

Trump has his hostage trade partner who is not an economic competitor in the EU.

You've finally posted something useful, Marcus.

Trump is right to call out the European hypocrites.

But, the EU's economy would collapse without Russian oil so EU countries can't comply.

Between the reduction in the flow of cheap Russian oil and idiotic green energy policies, multiple EU countries are self-destructing.

Your posts this morning are quite amusing. The Austrian re-publishing FOX, and "citing a White House official" without a name is itself amusing, given the White House's predilection to announce much publicly.

As to Europe "halting" --- their proposal to stop purchase by the end of 2027 is not yet passed through the EU parliament and ratified by the member states. Detail:

"The Proposal will now be subject to the ordinary legislative procedure that requires approval from the European Parliament as well as a qualified majority of the EU Member States.."

Source: "...there is significant dependence on Russia for certain stable radioisotopes used to produce medical radioisotopes for cancer treatment and the EU needs to increase efforts to develop EU production of such medical radioisotopes for the benefit of all Member States."

Source: COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMMISSION TO THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT, THE COUNCIL, THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COMMITTEE AND THE COMMITTEE OF THE REGIONS European Commission, 12 May 2025.

Additionally, the EU and its member states, as well as India, there are others buying Russian energy and other products not mentioned in the daily headlines. Detail:
The US and Europe are still doing billions of dollars’ worth of business with Russia despite years of war CNN, 14 August 2025.

And some specifics: The Russian Federation retains dominant market positions in several strategic categories. It supplies: 83.85% of U.S. imports of phosphatic fertilizer mixes; 49.58% of urea-ammonium nitrate fertilizers; 45.34% of unwrought palladium; 44.67% of buckwheat,"

Trying to finesse this Gordian knot is a political dance, for these United States are among those nations conitnuing to buy Russian products.

Betcha Baha didn't mention that, huh?

If they are buying Russian oil, it’s because they do not genuinely see Russia as a threat. So why is this our business?
