The value of a college degree has been called into question lately — and for good reason.
Parents might be shocked to learn what they’re paying for.
At the New School in Manhattan, a four-year private university where the $60,240 tuition doesn’t cover housing, students at the university’s Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts can learn “How to Steal.”
Noting the sociology seminar is not about “petty crime,” the course catalog explains it is an exploration of “the politics, ethics, and aesthetics of theft in a world where accumulation is sacred, dispossession is routine, and the line between private property and public good is drawn in blood.”
It includes field trips to “places where capital is hoarded and value is contested” — like museums, banks and even grocery stores.
I guess it’s fitting in New York, where shoplifting loot worth less than $1,000 is a mere misdemeanor. Locals don’t even bat an eye anymore at the sight of someone walking out of CVS with whatever they want.
The course catalog proudly declares that the class is a look at “radical ethics” and asks: “Is it possible to steal back what was already stolen?”
Like our city’s sense of right and wrong?

This is an easy course to teach. Just talk to the university administrators about how they charge an obscene amount of money for a useless degree. If that isn't theft, I don't know what is.
The students may learn some post-college lessons in FAFO.
I personally think the students should start by looting the professor’s house.
Extra credit for trashing the house after stealing everything of value.

As a famous person once said...
“You only own that which you are willing and able to defend using whatever means at your disposal”
One of the things at our disposal that we all use a lot is the deterrence provided by the police and justice system.
That is quickly evaporating in many places, so what replaces it?
“Public good” or “public interest” is nothing more or less than what gov’t wants. Give gov’t the chance and they’ll take everything - your God-given lives, liberties, and free pursuits.
Don’t let them. The Constitution is your legal backing. USE IT!!!
Umm, what about “Thou shalt not covet...?”
The Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land which limits gov't and protects your life, liberty, and free pursuits. Remember, our nation is built upon the Rule of Law - the Constitution - which rules over the police and justice system.
PUT YOUR TRUST IN THE LORD AND USE THE CONSTITUTION!!!
Just needs a single page flyer entitled “How To Shoot Thieves Dead”, discussing calibers, body targets, and forms of crippling injury from gunshot wounds.
Exactly.
And unpleasant ones at that.
Private property IS public good.
The students should pay their tuition with fraudulent checks.
Just start by stealing her cell phone. You know that evil racist “professuh” would demand the FBI get involved and lock up the thief for life.
BTTT
In a Republic the police, courts, politicians are (nominally) Public SERVANTS. When they fail to do their jobs, "We the People" take the law BACK into their own hands. That can get a bit disorderly ... police, courts, and politicians should greatly fear the consequences of their failure to do their jobs.
WOW!!! Talk about theft!
Exactly.
It is WAY past time for the left to be repaid in kind.
