A few days ago, Vice President J.D. Vance in an interview was asked why the Democrats are getting behind criminals and blocking prosecutions and police protection. He responded (to be kind) that the politicians have lost touch with their constituents. But although this might be true of some, he did not get to the real reason.
When Barack Obama was elected president, he indicated that he wanted to fundamentally change America. To that end, he fundamentally changed our health care system, in which many now acknowledge a lack of personal care
..........SNIP.......
Obama is an intelligent person who morphed Saul Alinsky, Marx, Critical Theory, and anarchy into a legitimate political movement. Although it was successful in his personal ascension to power, this approach has not generally gained ground nationally. (It is well received in the large urban cities with large minority populations.) The movement toward radicalism includes a reduction in policing and punishment for crimes. This results in chaos which threatens the local poor and minority population most giving them a sense of hopelessness and desperation. This is critical to the theory. Hence, these political leaders will resist any attempt to make our streets safer.
Democrats defend crime and defunding the police because this keeps them in power. If people are threatened, they are more willing to distrust those who fall into the “oppressor” groups. The impetus to change paradigms does not come easily when “free” stuff is offered to those with little resources. Hence socialist Mamdani is leading for NYC mayor in a city with a large immigrant population. Crime is the chaos that Critical Theory has ordered. Lowering the crime rate in Washington, D.C. by the Trump initiative is a threat to the Democratic leadership.

I think the left views crime as redistribution of wealth as well as retribution against the oppressor class.
That’s right.
BAM! The political version of"Free Beer Tomorrow".
Moral inversion is a term I learned here recently, that applies to what the Dems do. Just look at what a moral person would do in a situation - Dems will do the opposite.
I grew up in the 70s and 80s. I really never felt much fear. What was there to be afraid of? Sure, some bad things happened somewhere else but that wasn’t common and it didn’t make sense to dwell on it. Life was good. Sure, there was the Cold War but that was so totally out of our hands that it didn’t make sense to worry about it.
I think that our Masters have now constructed a world in which everyone is afraid of everything all the time. Climate change, viruses, crime, you name it. We all live in fear and many voters just want government to have massive power so that they can “fix things”.
They do so because they are criminals.
Anyone who still supports the Democrats has a criminal and evil heart, mind and soul.
Lol! Sorry,Barack Osama is a moron, the opposite of intelligent
“Obama is an intelligent person “ made me chuckle.
He’s the most intelligent person in the room, as far as he’s concerned.
Correct!
We now have “medical staff” pushing, shoving and manhandling ICE officer. They need to stay in their land. Aiding and abetting illegal alien criminals is not in their job description.
That’s right.
At all.
Obeyme is such an arrogant lowlife.
Stay in their LANE! Geez.
It would seem so. Chicago’s mayor just said that “if everyone had free housing, we wouldn’t have a crime problem” in response to having more police on the streets.
The fear also leads to less logical / less competent decision making, including making decisions to buy stuff. Sellers like it when their potential buyers to be on edge, where nudging them to make an "OK, I'll buy it" decision might see the buyer skip over some factors that ought to be considered. Media producers get results for their advertisers when they figure out what makes a viewer concerned for their safety or well-being.
