Cracker Barrel’s stock price fell by double digits this week after the company unveiled a new logo that removes the chain’s signature barrel and seated figure, marking the first major design change in nearly half a century.
CNN reported that shares of the company ‘nosedived more than 12%’ on Thursday following the rollout of the company’s new logo, which eliminates the image of a man sitting beside a barrel and instead features only the restaurant’s name in brown text on a yellow background. Marketing experts told the outlet that the decision could risk alienating loyal customers if the company fails to communicate the changes effectively.
The redesign is the first time in 48 years that the logo has not included the iconic illustration. The original Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, opened in 1969, featured a text-only logo before adding the barrel and man in 1977. Company leaders said the new design is part of a broader $700 million transformation plan aimed at modernizing the brand.
CEO Julie Felss Masino defended the changes, telling ABC News, “People like what we’re doing. Cracker Barrel needs to feel like the Cracker Barrel for today and for tomorrow — the things that you love are still there. We need people to choose us, and we want people to choose us.”
In addition to the logo update, Cracker Barrel has begun overhauling its restaurant interiors, replacing dark wood and country-themed trinkets with lighter designs, while also debuting new menu items and advertising campaigns.

Shouldn’t it be more useful to report how many more or fewer customers are in the restaurants? Investor moods for stocks don’t matter as much as people buying the meals or staying away.
Woman on a TV panel was the best: She said her first impression is the new logo looks like the Golden Corral one.
You mean like.....
“On behalf of Cracker Barrel’s LGBTQ+ Alliance & DEIB Team, we want to celebrate YOU for being YOU. It is our greatest Mission to ensure that Pleasing People means “all people.” LGBTQ+ Pride Month each June is an important time to reflect on the Stonewall Riots that began on June 28, 1969, evoking activists to demand change for the LGBTQ+ community in America.”
We go to CB a couple times a month and haven’t noticed any pride crap there.
Successful companies eventually are taken over by the business careerists who’ve never created or built anything themselves.
I don’t know about this year but I saw this.
“Beginning in 2016, the company adopted a pro-LGBT stance, developing an internal diversity council which included LGBT members. Since 2017, the company has sponsored Out & Equal, a workplace-equality non-profit organization.[93]”
“How in the world did a company like Cracker Barrel end up with a ‘woke’ CEO like her in the first place? I’m asking because I really don’t know all the background on this story.”
DEI hire?
She's lily white.
“BUT DON’T YOU GET IT??!? THAT DUDE AT THE BARREL IS WHYTE!”
May I say it without offending anyone here at FR? Please?
OF COURSE HE’S WHYTE!!! Old “whyte” people are who eat there! That is their clientele. That old man on the logo is a perfect representation of who eats there. Every time I’ve ever gone to a Cracker Barrel it feels like the
geriatric ward in hospital.
Blacks don’t eat there they eat at Waffle House when they want breakfast food we know because we’ve posted about it in the past.
As for the homosexual agenda they’ve pushed? Homos may work there but they sure don’t eat there unless they are over 65.
Maybe I confused affirmative action with DEI? They had to hire a woman so they hired her?
Oh yeah. One look at her and I get a hankering for cornbread and biscuits.
Large corporate food conglomerates like Cracker Barrel don’t technically care about preparing good food. Their first concern is cost. Then shrink factor, next plate-abilty by an untrained staff, and eye appeal. The Cracker Barrel model is one of the worst, as their target market are hurried travelers. No primary need for regular repeat customers.
I can remember when few blacks ate at the Waffle Houses in the metro area I live in; in fact, at one time the few blacks that did eat Waffle House almost overwhelmingly were likely to get take out only. Now, I would say starting back around 2009ish I have noticed they are dominated by blacks.
Thanks...

Sounds like Much to do about Nothing.
CB does have some juicy and tender breasts on the menu
first sign of trouble was the mimosa. It is as out of place as a hippy stopping by the country store my dad and I played dominoes in.
Bingo. That and the CEO can’t have an old white dude, who harbors old non WOKE ideals representing a brand.
I question the competence of those stock traders and investors who sold on the news of this chicken shit issue. In case they hadn’t noticed, Crackle Barrel menus don’t feature their logo as an appetizer, entree’, side dish or dessert.
