Make the deal Sonny.
NO! Land for peace is a reward for aggression. This goes back to Hitler 1939. It will only embolden Putin to go after mor land once he rebuilds his army. At the rate of losses, about 5 years.
Your Putin has zero days to make peace, marcus.
What Pokrovsk doink?
Trump can’t make a deal with either side or both sides, only Z and Putin can do that. Trump can only suggest possible ways to get there.
Z will either accept reality or accept more death and loss of territory, which is happening faster by the day now. Z doesn’t have enough soldiers to cover the front line and Putin will continue to take advantage of that. Also, all of Ukraine’s best built lines of defense are behind Putin’s lines now.
Wonder if that includes us agreeing to a nonaggression concept for NATO? It was the DC/London axis that started all of this.
I seem to recall a scene from Boardwalk Empire where a NJ mob boss goes to Ireland to make a whisky deal but the Irish guy keeps saying No. As the NJ boss is driven away by an Irish underling, we see in the background the big Irish boss get shot in the head. Then the Irish underling turns to the NJ boss and says “I’ll make the deal with you.”
Zelensky better watch out. The top guy may say No, but some people want a peace deal.
Essentially, in this “land swap” Putin gives up nothing. Ukraine gives up a huge swath of territory in exchange for a promise that Putin won’t demand more.
This is a non-starter.
And if given he will be happy with that until the next Democrat occupies the White House and then his grab of more Ukraine will start again.
Either way it’s a loss for Russia. Its military couldn’t defeat a much smaller country that borders it. They wouldn’t stand a chance against any super power nation across the world from it short of using nukes. All the world saw this.
As he does with many issues, Trump keeps trying to split the baby, or (impossibly) wash his hands. He also keeps pretending this is between Ukraine and Russia, or even NATO and Russia.
It's not. It's between the USA and Russia. Period. If Trump wants a deal or wants the war to stop, HE can make that happen. Right away.
The Zelensky grifter - who made it clear he'll concede nothing - is irrelevant. His only power is exploiting our money, gear and taxpayers.
Pull out of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. These provinces are overwhelmingly Ukrainian.
Just kill Putin and get it over with. Obama gave him the Crimea... Trump is going to give him something... The only thing that will stop a maniac from being a maniac... A bullet to the brain. Bring a gun to the next meeting and do us all a favor.
Putin has claimed his actions were protective, not aggressive.
A non-aggression clause would not stop like future action.
“If Kyiv agrees, Moscow is ready to drop claims to the parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions still under Ukrainian control, effectively freezing the frontline there.”
Sounds like General Kellogg is AGAIN trying to shove his crap into the mix.
Trump, no doubt at this point, knows the rules for ending the conflict, and that includes the liberation of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, and Zelensky will find out today that those are the terms...either agree, or fight on without Trump’s help.
So, Ukraine must concede the parts of both that are under Russian control along with Donetsk and Lugansk.
And, I guarantee the non-aggression pact will also apply to Ukraine. There is no chance Russia is tolerating another Ukrainian military build up, the kind that occurred when it broke the Minsk Accords.
This exactly what I've been saying would be the agreement all along.
You, on the other hand, predicted an unconditional ceasefire yesterday.
“ Trump: Putin ready to sign non-aggression deal, wants Ukraine’s Donbas in return…”

Correction:
Trump: Putin ready to sign non-aggression deal, wants THE RUSSIAN Donbas in return…”
The Russian Donbass has been Russian for centuries, and will remain Russian….
A reality check.
Why would Putin want to stop now? He is running out of troops, money, equipment and the whole of Russia is about to go into bankruptcy! That is why.
If he thought he was winning he would not stop where he is.
I don’t give a flying f*** about the “art” of the deal. I am inalterably opposed to the U.S. backing any agreement that even remotely appears to reward aggression, especially when we have more than sufficient ability to punish the same aggression.
“””President Zelenskyy has repeatedly rejected any possibility of ceding territory. “””
Then he needs to put on his GI Joe costume, grab his Red Ryder BB gun and head to the front lines and fight.
