VOLODYMYR Zelensky has said he is "counting on America" as Donald Trump prepares to greet Vladimir Putin on the runway after he lands in Alaska.
The embattled Ukrainian president said he hopes the peace summit between the two leaders leads to a trilateral meeting to get Ukraine involved in the peacemaking process.
It comes after Trump blasted Vladimir Putin for continuing to attack Ukraine and said his urge to kill "might be in his genes".

Don has voiced concerns over how Putin may behave during the talks already, as he described the summit as being like a chess game.
Trump reiterated these thoughts as he took to Truth Social shortly before he left Washington to simply say: "HIGH STAKES!!!"negotiations’ as leaders head to Alaska for Ukraine peace summit.

That doesn’t mean he wants to kill.
But make no mistake, Putin will kill if necessary for Russia.
Putin is a very stupid man to think that war works in the long term for his people.
Trump has to make sure he’s not put in a position where he’s making concessions to Russia on the behalf of Ukraine. Trump wants to avoid any comparisons with 1938 Munich conference when Chamberlain, Daladier gave away Sudentland to Germany without Czech approval.
Anything but. This is the kind of ill advised talk that will result in nothing being accomplished at the talks.
Why is it Russia is so hated? Putin literally has rebuilt Russia from what is was after the collapse in 1989, he has brought the Russian Orthodox Church back to prominence and many other things, is totally good, no, but is not totally bad either.

I believe Zelensky was in London.
It would have taken him six hours to fly across the Atlantic.
He could have then flown up to Alaska on Trump’s plane.
At best the Russians will tell Trump what they want and Trump will point out why certain demands are unreasonable.
Of course, Zelensky would have a better and more complete understanding why a Russian demand would be unreasonable.
And? The course of this war has been predictable. The Ukrainian people stuck between a vicious Putin and a soulless NATO. The Ukraine needs to salvage what it can. The Zeepers could travel there and take up arms and turn the tide, though. Lots of REMF support on the FR.
If Trump said this, it has to be the most moronic statement he has made to date and shows he has not bothered to do any studying of Russia, it’s history and it’s culture.
Trump’s total ignorance of Geopolitics and World Affairs is more glaring every minute. We are becoming isolated and the rest of the world is pivoting and moving on and we are still in a Cold War Mentality that has been over for over 35 years.
