then he came to and felt better. Wow. No thank you.
Ditto
Psychedelics are being seriously tested for PTSD. If they work, that is great. If not…at least we’ll know.
Trying new stuff isn’t bad.
But “running through the jungle away from monsters” is not really up my alley. To each his own.
“We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...”
Did he finally realize that his failure to secure TX from illegal invasion was a bad decision?
I bet NOT.
Who doesn't remember the LSD craze and people going nuts, seeing 30-foot tall spiders and such?
I seem to recall strange stories under crazed conditions with PCP, too.
Some drugs will permanently screw you over.
If everyone thought like you do we’d still be going to the barber shop for tooth extractions and bone-setting.
Texas governor Perry use to attend La Raza meetings and flew in to attend one of Texas big mosques grand opening ceremony.
He seemed like a stoner even before that.
Remember when he zoned out during the debates and couldn’t remember which three cabinet departments he wanted to get rid of?
Well, I’ll just say this. I recently heard Perry talking about a project/company he co-founded, to build a massive AI-data center campus near Amarillo. He was spitting facts, strategy, etc., talking details and also big picture.
My first reaction was, WOW, I didn’t know Perry had this in him.
He sounded MUCH smarter than he ever sounded as governor.
He could ALWAYS give a great speech. And that’s not a small achievement....but he was never really very impressive in a small group talking policy. (I was in meetings with him like that when he was governor). He always seemed a little foggy, a little less than fully informed, not very confident.
So for him to be doing real work, sounding AMAZING and intelligent...at 75...I’ll just say that it was noticeable. I didn’t think it was the same Rick Perry.
This was before I knew anything about his advocacy for ibogaine.
If ibogaine did that for him, I wish, for his own sake, he had gotten it thirty years ago.
I don’t know what injuries he perhaps suffered as a pilot during his service...or whatever was ailing him (comparatively) before, but, now....it’s gone.
He’s very impressive now. Pretty shocking, honestly.
NEVER swallow the worm.
After his disastrous debate, Perry tried to sell us that he had taken pain meds for an old back injury.
There’s clinics in both Mexico and Canada that use ibogaine to treat heroin and other addicts. Supposedly it’s pretty effective for that. But unlike some other hallucinogens there have been some deaths associated with ibogaine so it should only be used under medical supervision. A friend of mine whose son was a heroin addict was looking into this.
...and missing a kidney................
My theory is the type of trip depends on having the right intellect, a strong
sense of self, and the brain power to go with it.
“I spent the last few years building up an immunity to ibogaine powder.”
Well, so do I about a lot of things. However, my body is its actual age.
A youngish female acquaintance did this drug on a “retreat” in Mexico. On her “trip,” she learned that she is, in fact, not an earthling, but a sort of “angel” from another galaxy who was sent to earth on a mission to enlighten the human race. Coming off her trip has not disabused her of this notion.
Ibogaine treatments deserve serious medical investigation rather than having our retired special operations community members going to Mexico for them as is currently the case ...or worse, committing suicide as is happening too often now.

Former Governor trips bawls and likes it
