Vikings fans cheered the return of JJ McCarthy earlier this week when the team defeated the Houston Texans. However, a section of the Skol is unhappy because the club introduced a male cheerleader.
Female cheerleaders have been around for a long time, at both the college and professional levels. They play a key part in fan engagement and various other activities.
It’s not as easy a job as it may appear. Participants undergo several rounds of evaluation and a year-round grooming process to have a chance to represent their teams. According to the sources in The Vikings, they added a new face, a male cheerleader named Blaize. Vikings have always promoted inclusivity, and it’s a step in the right direction.
A section of the fans has a different opinion. They are not keen on seeing a male cheerleader on game days. ML Football revealed that fans have threatened to cancel their season tickets if the team employs a male cheerleader.

My problem with Kapernick kneeling was the fact that the national anthem has no place in sports. This is no different. There is no need for cheerleaders in football. Hot sideline reporters bring out the intellectual part of the game-right?
These decisions today are mind blowing.
Is there a new tick biting business executives and making them hate their customers and want to get rid of them?
I thought male cheerleaders were a normal part of things. We had them in high school.
Did the Vikings cancel female cheerleaders. Sorry, slow on the uptake.
I question the effectiveness of cheerleaders in the first place, male or female, until one sits on my lap.
That picture wrecked my gAIdar.
“I thought male cheerleaders were a normal part of things. We had them in high school.”
NOT like this! Male cheerleaders in High school or college did NOT shake pom poms or their hips.
With a name like that, he must be a flamer.
It’s Gen AI.
That “AI” rendering is bizarre.

Here’s my theory. Everyone at business meetings today is afraid to say no to any stupid, woke idea. No one wants to risk being called a hater.
So they all play it safe, and go along with what they know is a bad idea.
eeew. How unbecoming of the brand.
I was hinting at that in my post. It sure looks fake.
When I was in college in the 1970s, my coed school had male cheerleaders for the football team. They were big strong guys who could lift the women cheerleaders up and put them on their shoulders standing and do other stunts of great strength. Nobody thought anything, but that it was fantastic. They also carried humongous megaphones and with the big male voice could really get a cheer going. This is not new.
Probably not his real name.
“Blaize” is probably a transvestite.
Watch a video of “Blaize”. He is definitely NOT one of those big strong guys...

GWB was a cheerleader, as I recall.
