I'm primarily a bourbon drinker, but I've had some good rye also. Looking forward to see their testing results.

Around here it's pronounced Roy whiskey.

Rye whiskey is superior to corn whiskey.
But the barleycorn is king.

“a Midwestern distiller is teaming up with scientists to bring back a long-gone type of grain and turn it into spicy, bold whiskey.”
.
Total guy logic.
Perform a miracle of science, then “hey, lets make some booze!”
Other scientists, “OK!”
.

Lake Superior, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
But Huron, they cry, will give up the rye
When American is made great again

Same here, Omnivore-Dan. I like Bourbon. But, I have a few really good Rye expressions on my shelves, too.
Let’s see what these folks come up with...

Fascinating. Maryland’s last rye distiller Pikesville Supreme closed in 1976, although there are boutique distillers making limited amounts.
I like rye, this was a fascinating post.

“Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye”. Don McLean I think. I enjoy a shot or two of Rye whiskey once in a while.

I’m also a bourbon drinker but I like a good rye whiskey occasionally. 13th Colony a Georgia distilled makes really good one..
