Why was any of this ever secret?
What national security threat, i.e. information about future operations, identity of sources, or technical capabilities are compromised by letting the public know about this?
Many of our “secrets” are not for national security.
It allows people to BREAK THE LAW PURSUING SELF INTERESTS, and then use the viel of secrecy to hide their actions.
Much that gets the big red or even orange stamp has no business being hidden from the public. It simply is embarrassing or troublesome for those making failed decisions, or breaking the law.
There needs to be reform of our government classification system.
