Protesters gathered in New York City to hold a “We’re With Colbert” rally on Sunday in support of the recently canned ” The Late Show” host.
The rally was held outside of the CBS Broadcast Center on Manhattan‘s West Side, according to the New York Post. The outlet noted that only around 20 people showed up to the event, with most attendees — including the New York Police Department (NYPD) officers assigned to keep the peace — leaving shortly after it began.
“Our country is not perfect, never has been,” the event organizer told the outlet. The event organizer went by Matt and claimed his nickname was “Slim.”
“But we’ve always had the First Amendment, and now Mango Mussolini is trying to take that from us,” he went on to tell the outlet.
Cartelville Text Other protesters at the rally claimed they were there to resist oligarchs and billionaires.
“This is the Sons of Liberty, we are here to resist fascist oligarchs, wish dot com dictators, billionaires who have their boots on the neck of nearly every American citizen. Trying to take back patriotic symbolism from the right-wing,” another protester said in a video posted to X on Sunday.
“We are allowed to disagree, and if people like Stephen are not allowed to disagree because the president doesn’t like his opinion, then the president himself is not following the First Amendment,” said another protester.
“I’m willing to spend my free time expressing my freedom of expression, and I personally do not agree with our politicians meddling with our free press,” the protester continued to exclaim.
Many signs were displayed at the protest, with one saying, “Sorry Folks, But Ignoring It Is What Hitler Did,” as can be seen in the video.
Another sign said, “He Wants To Kill Our Laughter, Heil To The No No No!”
CBS announced that it would be ending Colbert’s show on July 17, according to a report from The Variety.
This decision came amid the merger between Skydance and Paramount, which is the parent company of CBS. There were speculations that hosts like Colbert would face increased scrutiny from executives at Skydance.

Kind of difficult to get people to protest when you no longer have cash (as in USAID) to hand out.
The Left has legitimate distress. How will the crazies sleep if there are no Colberts to tell them their delusional bedtime stories?
This ‘protest’ should be what we once called a ‘clue’...................
Pretty soon they will resort to kidnapping winos.................
Colbert No Laughs, No Ratings, No Job . Maybe the protesters would pay CBS millions of dollars to get Colbert back on the air ,LOL
his entire viewership
i call that a success
This is disheartening. Why didnt the remaining 5 of his viewers show up?
They were passed out in some alleyway...................
More would have been there if they could have escaped from the dementia wing of their assisted living facility.
You can’t get more fascist than locked doors.
(Hint for next time—sneak in the back of the laundry truck.)
Lol.
Awesome. About the size of his audiences.
The outlet noted that only around 20 people showed up to the event, with most attendees — including the New York Police Department (NYPD) officers assigned to keep the peace — leaving shortly after it began.
The brouhaha about the cancellation of Colbert’s show, is a manufactured “crisis” pushed by MSM hacks, fomenting lies.
>>>The brouhaha about the cancellation of Colbert’s show, is a manufactured “crisis”...<<<
It isn’t working.......Outside of their echo bubble, nobody cares..................
So in ptherwords, his whole viewing audience showed up
Audience members on JWP interviewed by Johnny were shocked to find Colbert made $20M/yr.
Truth is, even New Yorkers find him smug and insufferable too.
Yep.
“NYC Protesters Organize A ‘We’re With Colbert’ Rally — But Only 20 People Showed Up”
sounds about right given Colbert’s ratings ...
That many?
